I was at the game last night too. It was clear they were saving themselves a bit for today's matchup at Muskegon Heights though. Did you talk to his Dad at all? Wondering what his thoughts on Drake's college choices look like, and if they match Drake's at this point?

I like hearing that he called Izzo "very enthusiastic" and then when asked what he's looking for in a program Dake said he's looking for a coach who is "enthusiastic and can get his face and make him better". He didn't say that about any of the other coaches and that description fits Izzo perfectly.

I was about to post the same, I think the Drake Harris recruitment is going to be very competitive between MSU & Scum. Drake loves Izzo, but also has visited Scum several times while visiting Indiana as well.

Hey pretty sure I saw him when espn flashed over to Chubby Hoke and he had Drake sitting next to him all dressed in scuM gear.
Our staff is in for a dogfight with this kid and we need to be relentless because fatboy sure will be.

MSU has a proven track record of letting guys play both football and basketball which will help. He is not deciding anytime soon so i wouldnt worry about it

It is not a secret that his Dad is very involved. Drake is a sophomore, but his Dad did have him transfer schools and hold him back in 8th grade. He's probably the same age as a lot of the Juniors.
Drake is nice player but people shouldn't expect him to be the 2nd coming. He has a great first step, runs well, has nice moves to the hoop, and has great hops. When he throws up 16 against Grand Rapids Union, EGR, or some other bad team people shouldn't expect him to come in a score 20 right away for MSU. If there are unrealistic expectations for Drake in college, he will have unneeded pressure on him to perform right away.
He could be great some day because he has such future upside with his natural abilities. He better play one sport if he wants to be a master in one sport though. Let's all hope it is MSU. Drake would get a lot of love from the Spartan faithful.

If he honestly feels that way, I feel bad for the kid. They are building a solid team but it no way a dynasty.. You gotta win and compete year in and year out...

I have seen him play a bit in hoops but only 7 on 7's in football. In 7 on 7's, our kids couldn't stay within 6 yards of him at any one time. He would've killed us in a real game too.
That being said, getting hit in D1 football might not be as desirable as being a D1 basketball starter.
