Montclair (N.J.) High's touted defensive end Darius Slade tells Spartan Tailgate he has committed to Michigan State.
The 6-foot-5, 238-pound Slade called Spartans head coach Mark Dantonio and gave him the good news, just a day after he went public with his decision to decommit from Nebraska.
"Committed to Michigan State University," Slade said via text to SpartanTailgate. "I was a Spartan all along. That's home for me."
Other programs to offer Slade included Ohio State, Penn State, West Virginia and Rutgers.
"MSU were my family since day one," Slade added.
Slade helped lead his team to a state championship as a senior with 23.5 sacks and capped his prep career as Semper Fidelis All-American. He is ranked by 247Sports as the nation's No. 31 strong-side defensive end.
