    • He definitely regrets decommiting from Michigan. This is the downside of the Michigan coaches no visit policy. He didn't do his due diligence in the first place and now they won't let him back into the fold even though he doesn't want to leave the area anymore.

Yea I mean his options are MSU, OSU, and Alabama...how awful...

Typical U of M fan take. So, how do you know this? Did you talk to the kid?

IMHO, they're fools to let such a highly rated recruit go to either us (and fill a position of extreme need) or to OSU (and also fill a position of need)..

We have the same policy at MSU and it's why RB Mikail McCall got his scholarship pulled as a commitment. However they loosened it up a bit last year and allowed Pittman to take that OSU visit since he discussed it with them first. Not sure how they feel about it now.

That UM corner commit (Conley) visit OSU this weekend...but I think he is still committed. Sounds like UM's policy might be flexible as well.

Nonetheless, this is about Dawson. Of course we would all love to get him in the fold...and it'd be a nice turnaround for our offensive line recruiting that so many folks were freaking out about this summer. Landing Finley and Dawson would be quality.

    • Story a few weeks ago said the Florida staff informed Michigan that Dawson was trying to visit there behind their back. Im sure everyone know's the Hoke Policy, whether you like it or not. Apparently there were a ton of problems aside from that, so the staff parted ways completely. Last week he connected with a few of our commits, and asked them to communicate with the staff about possibly letting him back into the fold. Obviously, they completely parted ways, so it's not happening. The poster above, wasn't making up a story, I think he regretted it somewhat. I definitely think MSU, OSU, and Alabama are damn good options. Definitely a big loss for Michigan, never want to give up talent to your rivals.

They really just make it up as they go along in Ann Arbor. He's a 17 year old kid, but that doesn't stop the Michigan culture from throwing him under the bus. The kid decided he wanted to check out other schools, so he scheduled other visits knowing full well this meant he was decommitting. Michigan fans can't handle that so they've been making up stories about it ever since.

      Pretty pathetic.

Sorry, not buying this. If Dawson really wanted back in, why didn't he go straight to Brady Hoke?

    • How am I throwing him under the bus? Im referring to the things we were told from writers that cover Michigan recruiting. I assure you we can handle it. We'll be fine. I don't blame any kid for not liking Hoke's policy, and any Michigan fan / fan of any school that bashes a kid for a decision is pathetic.

There is always an excuse or something is wrong with the kid when he picks someplace other than their school. Literally every time.

FWIW, I have no issue with Hoke's policy. Dantonio has a similar one, but unlike Hoke (who has the winged helmet, a friendly press, and the whiney bitch AD) Dantonio is more selective in the the enforcement (due to necessity).

Also, no one should have an issue if Dawson regretted splitting ties with UM. He was committed to UM for a long time. Of course there is going to be some regret.

That said, i hope he commits to MSU and bulldozes DL for years to come.

Interesting, I had heard the opposite from a few guys close to the scUM program. A few committed guys were trying to convince him to come back into the fold. I think Hoke and his staff were trying to put the squeeze on Dawson and went a little to far. There is no question that the staff knows that they screwed up

"Story a few weeks ago said the Florida staff informed Michigan that Dawson was trying to visit there behind their back." - Basically calling him shady for going behind the umAA coaches back.

"Apparently there were a ton of problems aside from that, so the staff parted ways completely." - Insinuating the kid has issues.

Your words. But yeah, you weren't throwing anyone under the bus.

    • Fuck Michigan. Can we go back to discussing what's actually in the story? The kid named MSU as his leader. Don't let UM aholes distract you all from that.

Amen. I admit, I was suckered into the UM banter.

If we can finish with Dawson, Peko, and/or Augusta...this class is going to be a damn good class.

I'm surprised they haven't mentioned grades yet.

Before Michigan even spoke publicly on it, Dawson had tweeted that he was decommitting and he had no hard feelings, but they were going their separate ways. Then a couple days later the people around the Michigan program tried to spin that to they pulled his offer.

Literally every single time they have some excuse, the kid decided he didn't want to go to Michigan, it wasn't the best fit for him, end of story. If the people around Michigan Football had one ounce of respect for the kid, they'd leave it at that.

When we lost Pittman to OSU, we were pissed, but at least we didn't make up stories that assaulted the kid's character to my recollection.

    • "I rushed myself into a bad situation at Michigan earlier this year by not weighing my options."

Walverines can make shit up as they go, but the fact that this real quote from him remains tells you all you need to know.

    • Seriously, SBGoBlue and VirginiaBlues88. You guys need to move on. The kid de-committed from Michigan. I'm sure you love that school but it's not for everyone.

Making up stories about a kid who doesn't want to go to your school is just pathetic. Get over it.
