The problem is that there are a select few universities that can throw substantial sums of money at their coaches and programs. Other schools may try to at least get in the ballpark, but this is a moving target that most will never be able to sustain. Unless the NCAA implements a spending cap of some sort (which will never happen), it will always be the haves vs have-nots, as it has always been. This is why I could care less about a playoff. year in and year out it will always be the same cast of characters, and the best that most programs could hope to aspire to is to catch lighting for a year here and there.
