Kaminski Out 4-6 Months

Kenny Kaminski

True freshman forward Kenny Kaminski will miss 4-6 months after undergoing successful surgery for a torn labrum, Michigan State announced Monday.

The 6-foot-7 prospect, ranked the No. 3 player in Ohio by 247Sports, had the surgery September 7. Kaminski also missed all of his senior basketball season with the same injury after having surgery on a torn labrum suffered during football season.

Kaminski was approaching full-strength this summer and participated in the Moneyball Pro-Am Summer League along with the rest of the Spartan freshmen. He estimated himself to be at 80-percent last July before requiring another surgery.

It’s entirely possible Kaminski would have redshirted in 2012 regardless, but that’s now a certainty. And the freshman will miss valuable practice time while out with said injury.
