The Sound Mind Sound Body Maximum Exposure program has it rolling in the Detroit area, and as time flies, its talent-rich Adidas Showcase is now upon us again.
Wisconsin QB commit Chance Stewart is on the list to attend and he performed well at the Sound Mind Sound Body Maximum Exposure Adidas spring showcase.
It will be another loaded cast of the Midwest area’s top recruits performing inside the Pontiac Silverdome on Dec. 1, and with what is always the case, many other prospects will begin making a name for themselves competing against their peers.
247Sports will be in Michigan for what is always a great and well-run event. Event organizer Curtis Blackwell sent over a list of some of the talent expected to attend.
Michigan quarterback commit Shane Morris developed into a five-star working with this program. A regular at these events in the past, his camp and combine days are over and now it’s time for others to shine. Top247 junior quarterbacks Drew Barker and DeShone Kizer are on the list. A few of the top-in-state junior signal callers expected to attend are Wisconsin Top247 quarterback commit Chance Stewart, Travis Smith and Tyler Wiegers. Sophomore quarterback Jayru Campbell figures to be one of the nation’s best and already has offers from Alabama and Notre Dame.
Like Morris, Michigan freshman running back/return man Dennis Norfleet put on a show at these events and found himself ranked inside the Top247. The two backs that replaced Norfleet at Detroit King will be at this event in Raymond Mitchell and Jerrod Davis. Two of the big up-and-comers from in-state are Michael Weber and Romello Ross. Both could develop into national recruits, as could Eric Glover-Williams from Canton (Ohio) McKinley.
Michigan State freshman Aaron Burbridge showed elite athleticism and ability above his peers at this event two years ago. Michigan class-of-2013 commitments Khalid Hill and Csont’e York made a name for themselves attending these events over the years. Galion (Ohio) High Top247 junior Dareian Watkins will be one of the more explosive athletes in attendance. Avonte Maddox and Jalen Embry are two exciting juniors from Detroit King that will participate this year. Darryl Long from Ohio already has two BCS offers. Ray Buford from Southfield is an exciting underclassmen prospect.
Top247 CB Damon Webb has dominated these events going back to his freshman year.
Top247 offensive lineman David Dawson never missed one of these camps and Michigan State pledge Dennis Finley has also impressed at this showcase. Colt Pettit has BCS offers and will be up from Hamler (Ohio) Patrick Henry. Saint Clair Shores (Mich.) South Lake sophomore Kyonta Stallworth has a chance to be heavily recruited.
Top247 prospect Donovan Munger, Kenton Gibbs and Pittsburgh commit Luke Maclean are among the talent that has shined in the past. One of the top prospects in the nation will be on hand this year in Detroit (Mich.) Loyola junior Malik McDowell, who already has several top BCS offers. Southfield’s junior Lawrence Marshall also has a few early scholarships including one from Michigan State. There is some buzz surrounding Oak Park (Mich.) sophomore Shahid Bellamy as well.
Michigan State four-star linebacker commit Jon Reschke has become a more explosive and polished football player attending camps in this program. There is plenty of other linebacker talent coming up the pipeline led by his future Spartans teammate in Detroit Cass Tech Top247 junior Deon Drake. Drake’s teammate and classmate William White has a couple offers and another teammate and classmate Gary Hosey will certainly see Division-I offers come his way. A prospect could shoot up the rankings is Detroit King's Carl Fuller, who has an offer from Syracuse. The nation’s top outside linebacker according to 247Sports in Akron (Ohio) St. Vincent-St. Mary’s Dante Booker is on the list to attend. Another linebacker with offers coming from the Buckeye State is Tinashe Bere.
A loaded group of participants led by regular attendee Damon Webb, who has worked his way into being a Top247 class-of-2014 prospect. Webb has several BCS offers, and will be joined by two of Ohio’s best in Darius West and Alonzo Saxton Jr. The Orchard Lakes (Mich.) St. Mary’s duo of junior Jalen Watts-Jackson and sophomore Tyson Smith is as good a combination as you’re going to see in the state. Timothy Cason II is another in-state junior with offers.
The camp will award a Fastest Man (40-yard dash), Mr. Explosive (short shuttle), Strong Man (medicine ball), Most Hops (vertical jump), 1-on-1 champ and of course an overall MVP.
