I'm not sure where he would be in terms of playing time. Keith has another 2 years, Travis has 3, and by all reports Valentine seams to be a combo guard as well. Throw in Kearney to play to spell the others I don't know where Cha Cha would be in the rotation.

You can't have enough good 1s and might be better for Valentine to be a 2 anyway....he can take it to the hole with good handle and good vision for the kick out pass.

If we miss on jackson! I think cha cha can come in and redshirt in 2013 and in 2014 appling would be leaving trice as the lone 1 and trice would be a senoir before cha cha hits the floor...

Unless you have a Chris Paul, I am tired of small guards. How many times do we have learn that they dont have court vision,strength and passing ability of taller guards?

Valentine is not a combo guard. He's a tall point guard, who can play wing in MSU's system/develop into a 2. Combo guard insinuates that he neither excels at neither position, but can play both. MSU hasn't picked up a '13 PG yet, because they are confident in Valentine's skills, and feel they can scout more for their next PG.

He sounds like a combo guard to me, he can play both guard positions. Has nothing to do with being able to or not able to excel as a PG or a SG.
Joe Dumars was a combo guard with the Pistons. Do you think he took offense to being called that?
