This is an interesting development...sounds like a great prospect. It will be interesting to see how the 2013 class shakes out.

I live in Memphis and have seen JWIII play a few times. I was surprised to hear that Izzo was interested a few months ago. Not because Williams can't play but because Memphis has always had incredible HS hoops talent and Izzo has never really recruited the area. Williams can play the 3 or the 4 and was generally thought to be the best player in Memphis last year, as a junior. He was usually rated higher than Jarnell Stokes who ended up skipping his senior season to join the Vols in January. Stokes even won SEC Freshman of the week at least once this past season.

I heard somewhere that Williams is heavily interested in MSU, which is why Izzo took notice. Hope it's real interest!

I know thats right, I just had to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming. I say offer all 5 star kids across the country for the positions of need, I know Izzo likes to recruit players to fit the system but I say forget that. Its been 12 years since his National Championship, I say live a little and change your method of recruiting.

I think that's the key and resonates with what Sean got in that article - if Coach Izzo is going to pursue a player outside the normal radius, it'll have to include substantial evidence from the player of sincere interest. He's not going to spin his wheels in Tennessee to pad someone's ego. If Williams is earnest about wanting to look at MSU and makes the effort, MSU will reciprocate.

As MSU fans were starving for another National Championship. We all are happy with the Final Four trips but it's time to win another Championship and I think Izzo feels the same way and therefore hes going after the best in other states.

MSU has not officially offered Williams but after he visits MSU he'll have a commitable offer. Izzo would make room for both Parker and Williams in the 2013 class.

I dont really understand how izzo would be able to make room for Williams if we got Jackson and Parker. Can you clear this up for me? What are the rules?

I seem to remember a point guard recruit Izzo got back in the 80"s as he was building his rep as a recruiter named Andy Pennick. I believe he was from Memphis or Louisville.

Penick was a three point high school gunner from the Lousiville. Had an injury plagued career and only played in 90-91 and 94-95 seasons.

Not sure if you serious but he's a junior in high school, has plenty of time to get bigger befor he arrives on any campus.
