Totally agree.
He measures up exactly the same in terms of wingspan as Anthony Davis.
He has a better reach than Davis.
He's a shot blocker like Davis.
The free throw shooting and work ethic (both can be improved) were the ONLY reasons he fell into our lap.
Joe D got CRAZY lucky in this draft.

Absolutely agree. If it were a #2 pick, then that's a different story. But I don't see anyone else on the board that has a good chance of being an All-Star (not to say that there won't be one or two surprise late-bloomers -- there are in almost every draft -- but those are a crapshoot).
Detroit lost a lot of games last year because they couldn't protect the rim and couldn't rebound the ball. If Drummond does only those things, he puts the Pistons in a much better place.
(And yeah, he could be a total bust. But I think if you go back and look at players picked in say the #7-#11 slots over the past 15 years, you're going to find a lot of busts and not too many All Stars. There is almost always inherent risk in anyone that you're picking in the lower reaches of the lottery.)
