  • Thanks! That sounds about right.

  • NBAdraft.net has Illinois' Meyers Leonard going to the Pistons. I actually think that would be a great get. Sure he is pretty immature right now but he has sooo much potential.

Also I really hope the Suns draft someone worth a shit this season.

  • I'm starting to warm up to the idea of Meyers Leonard... just as long as it's not Henson.

I kind of agree. I'm beginning to subscribe to the notion that several Illini players stopped competing midway through the year and that Leonard wasn't even getting attempts due to them jacking up shots (coughBrandonPaulandDJRichardsoncough). If Frank can motivate him, he'll be good. I think you and I are on the same page about Henson.

Talent wasn't the issue, it's was the head. Meyers is nowhere near Darko mentally, and there's also a coach here willing to play a rookie.

  • Pistons worked out Leonard, Henson, Moultrie, Zeller, and both Jones' today. Word is that Henson came out on top in the workout. Could be a smokescreen to stop a team from moving ahead of them to draft someone like Leonard though. Also, Chad Ford of ESPN said he would be surprised if DayDay slipped past Indiana at 23.

  • if the Bulls can not trade up, I could see D-Day going to Chicago. They play more players then most and mix and match. His personality would fit in well.

  • A lot of mocks have Green going to Thunder

  • I really hope the Wizards have the opportunity and pull the trigger on MKG. He's a Wild Boy. Some mocks have the Bobcats taking Robinson over him. I think Robinson would be a great get as well. Lukewarm on Beals and want no part of Drummond or Barnes

This is what I don't understand. Why would anyone consider Barnes over MKG after last year? Barnes didn't look like he cared last year and he really didn't shoot very well. At least with MKG, you're getting a defensive monster who will play his butt off every night. If he can find a 15-20 foot jumper, he'll be good for a long time.

Two things of interest for most here:

#1, where will Day-Day end up? I am hearing he could end up in Miami, OKC, Chicago or in Dallas or San Antiono VIA trade. I wouldn't be surprised if I see Detroit trade up for him as well (sending a contract that would be amnestied)

#2, who will fall to the Pistons at #9. Pistons got luck the past 2 drafts with Monroe and Knight falling to them because of boneheaded pics before them. Can the pistons make it 3 years in a row?

don't you mean "what I'm reading on multiple websites" instead of "what I'm hearing?" Or is Ric Bucher calling you to get your analysis. Can't wait to see you on the broadcast Thursday night.

After watching The Journey segment on Leonard, it was easy to see that he had a lot on his plate this season with his family situation and the Weber mess. Easy to see why he played a little disinterested at times. I think he's a guy that once he gets an NBA contract and can get his family the help it needs, is going to blossom into a good player who will be motivated on improving himself, rather than those closest to him.

I'd be happy with him going to the Pistons. Him and Monroe would be a pretty good frontcourt moving forward.

MKG or Robinson will be there for the taking and I already know we aren't going to end up with either of them. I should just get angry and start throwing shit around the room right now.

Barmes looked unmotivated essentially auditioning for his first contract, generally people don't suddenly become motivated AFTER they get paid.

    No way he does...

but for me, I am so high on this kid I would trade down/up to get him OR I'd even take him with the No. 9 pick. I love his game and demeanor.

Agreed.Kid is gonna be a stud.

He is flying under the radar somewhat, which is good for Detroit.

I'm thinking late first round(hard to see the Spurs passing on him),but we can only hope.

  • I guess I'm against most of you guys when I say I'd be happy with pretty much anyone but Meyers Leonard. This is what I hate about drafts, and the NBA is worse than the NFL: people totally disregard how good you are and focus on other things. In my eyes, Kidd-Gilchrist and Anthony Davis are almost equal, but Kidd-Gilchrist is going to go almost ten picks later. Meyers Leonard was a pansy all season and in the NBA its going to be even worse. Can you imagine him going up against Andrew Bynum or Dwight Howard - he'd be be backed down into the stands. Him and Henson may have a similar physique, but Henson knows how to use it, he is a shot blocker where Leonard is just an athletic freak who someone is going to hope gets really good at something.

  • Most likely Henson. I want them to make a move for Drummond or MKG whos stock is falling though. Also i want fab melo in the late first round, give up the 2 2nd rounders and cash for a late 1st rounder and get a shotblocking 7 footer

If MKG starts sliding, every GM that passes on him needs an IQ test. It's the Brandon Knight argument from last year all over again. He has the highest floor of anyone in the draft not named Thomas Robinson. His worst case scenario is that he'll be a high energy guy who plays nasty defense and grabs a ton of rebounds for 10-15 years. His best case scenario is that he finds a jump shot and he's a perennial all star.

I would put Anthony Davis into that list too.

  • I think the Pistons drafting John Henson is the most likely outcome at this point. They just picked up Maggette and every other starting start seems to be filled expect PF. Unless Barnes, MKG or Drummond drops, you gotta take care one of your needs. Lenorad might have more upside, but Henson is going to be more productive coming out of the gate.
