If you couldn't see T-Rob's speed on the field, you just don't know what you are looking at or you weren't paying attention.
Officially T-Rob ran a 4.52 40 and a was the 2nd fastest safety at the combine. He was also a top performer in the broad jump and verted 35 inches. He only did 15 reps at 225 lbs on the bench, which I'd say is a bit disappointing, but I think he probably helped himself quite a bit with this performance. NFL.com indicates that he currently has a 4th or 5th round grade. The only thing that confused me was their comment about him being a bit injury prone. Thought he was pretty durable myself and he never suffered a major injury. Anyway....

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

Hand time vs. electronic. I think these times just expose the myth of 4.40 forty in many cases. There simply aren't that many guys who legitimately run a sub 4.50. You can basically add 0.05 to 0.10 seconds to any hand time. I'm not sure why the NFL network puts up the unofficial hand times. They are recording them electronically and should be able to give the viewers instant feedback. I think its weird.

T-Rob missed chunks of each of MSU's last 6 games. He was never injured enough to go out for the whole game, but he would get dinged up for a series or two. Remember the Iowa game, when Jairus Jones forced a fumble and Lippett recovered? Those 2 were filling in for Robinson and Dennard respectively.

I was a 3 time all stater in the 100M dash in high school (Illinois). Finished 5th, 3rd, and 2nd my soph, junior, and senior year respectively. Usually ran in the 10.8 range as a junior and senior (plus or minus a tenth) when I ran meets that used electronic timing. The best electronic forty I ever ran was a 4.49. You can invariably add at LEAST a tenth, probably two tenths to the times these high school athletes are reporting. Very few are accurate. That's why its so impressive when a guy like Chris Johnson comes to the combine and runs a 4.24. I guarantee CJ would a WORLD CLASS 100M guy.

A perfect example would be Luck. They indicated on the NFL network that he ran a 4.59, the same time as Cam Newton. However, he actually ran a 4.67 officially.

at 6'8" 190lbs I ran a 5.6 40 and 17.0 100 yard dash on grass in HS. The calendar jokes ensued for years. Jud would have had lots of ways to describe it I'm sure.
Actually move pretty well it just takes me about 30 yards to get up to slow.
Our coaches were nice enough to not have them cut the grass and made us run in football pants/pads (not the shoulder pads though)

Keyshawn's official time was 4.45, which was good enough for 11th among WRs. He also finish 2nd in the 60 yard shuttle (11.16 secs), 4th in the vert (39.5 inches), 8th in the 3 cone (6.85 secs), 10th in the 20 yard shuttle (4.13 secs), and 14th in the broad jump (10'2"). Overall Keyshawn had a helluva combine. I think he showed what we all knew; that he's an elite athlete. In addition, at 6'0" 188 lbs I think he's a little bigger than I thought he'd be. I'm guessing he solidified himself as at least a 4th round pick and might slide into the 3rd. We'll see though.

I thought he wasn't lifting is what I read.
And I don't get that either....ok you don't run because you want a faster field at pro day, you don't throw since you want more familiar receivers around you.....but benching?
It's a flat bench and 225 lbs....I wonder if the gravitational pull at some schools is lower which makes it advantageous to wait for the pro day?
