No, I somewhat agree. Bell is a big back but he doesn't always play like one. Which can be both good and bad in certain situations. There have been times when he's tried to dance around too much instead of just powering through a defender or hole. All in all though I like having his spin move/stutter step as an option. In the NFL that likely won't work as much which is why GMs will probably want him to do what he's supposed to - lower his pads and drive through a defender.

Really? I don't agree at all. Yes there are times that he could lower his shoulder instead of making a move, but at what cost? You would rather him gain 1-2 extra yards instead of trying to gain an extra 7-10? Its not like when we got stuffed in short yardage situations it was because he was dancing around. Hell,he led the NCAA in yards after contact so he obviously knows how to fight through a tackle. If he doesn't "run as big as he is" then what Mayock is saying is that he thinks he should run like a fullback. I'd like Mayock to name a successful RB that runs "bigger" than Bell does. If anything, his vision and agility is what will make him a successful NFL RB, not his ability to run over NFL LBs.

I think that's the point though, in the NFL teams are going to want him to lower his shoulder because NFL defenses are so much bigger, stronger, and faster. I personally like the way he runs right now but it's legitimate concern that the moves that made him so good in college won't be as effective in the NFL, so Mayock was basically trying to say that he needs to stick to being a big power back, and not a tweener.
