I've seen 70 year olds get around quicker than AlAv. Not sure how many years he can play catcher.

It's a long-term concern. That's true for any catcher, really.
But his mobility has taken a notable turn for the worse from mid-last season. He's not blocking pitches anywhere near as well as last season.

Hate to say it, and I know it's really early, but Miggy is really dragging this lineup down right now. He's nearly 50 points off what we "expect" his BA to be, ESPECIALLY at the rate that Dirks and Jackson are getting on, and with Prince hitting behind him. This lineup won't be potent until/unless he starts hitting like he's capable of.

This may have been mentioned last night but it appears as if Jim Price is no longer going on road trips with the team. Dan Petry is in the booth again with Dickerson. I like Jim Price but I also enjoy the change of pace that Petry brings.

Article in MLive that his immune system is way down from cancer treatment.

He crushed the ball right at people twice last night. Damn near killed the starting pitcher.

However last year Avila had 130 games started behind the plate. Molina from St Lousis had 131 starts.

Yep. Still can't get that hit that breaks the game open and lets the players relax. We really do need a laugher of a game soon, it'd be nice to destroy these fucking Mariners the next two.

I almost felt bad for him, then I looked it up and he has made about $80 million dollars in his career. He'll survive a shellacking or two.

Verlander is off his game, and is furious with the home plate umpire.
