I believe he had three in one game. Two of them came in extra innings.

I don't think anyone would say that Raburn is "good" at third. I don't think he has enough of a sample size to say he is cementred as "awful", either. Betemit is pretty much solidified as a below average fielder at third base, but all around is a better option than Inge was.

With Raburn starting find his way at the plate, I don't mind if they work him at third for an offensive boost. You can always bring in Kelly as a defensive replacement

If Raburn's going to hit enough to play over there I don't have a problem with it, but it would be nice to have a guy on the bench with an above average glove that could be a late-inning replacement. At this point Kelly is probably the best of the bunch, but he's average at best.

Well its always best to have your best team which would NOT include Raburn.

UM, Green Bay and Chicago teams all have one thing in common: They all suck

Raburn must have great splits against Buerhle. Either that or Leyland is going all righties.

    Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.

    no
Broom 'em out. Enough with the apologist perspective. To say Raburn is finally finding his way at the plate is like saying even a blind squirrel will eventually find a nut........

.298/.328/.544 over the past calendar month (62 PA)

I think that warrants trying to find a place for him in the lineup. I don't think there is anywhere else where he can play without displacing someone performing better. Pretty good problem to have.

  • Leyland's ready for the game:

@ChiTribRogers: How comfortable is Jim Leyland at a ballpark? He just strolled ard the US Cellular grass in his underwear, no shirt. Veeck wld be proud.

I don't think anyone thinks this is out of place for a White Sox game.

I don't; even when he is supposedly going 'good', he still strikes out every 3.4 at bats and his fielding sucks. Let me ask you this, drunkguy, do you like going to the laundramats to watch the dryers go round and round?

Awesome. So even if he is hitting well, you are going to complain about his strikeout rate.

I was vocal about Raburn sitting on the bench when he was hacking away to a .200 BA earlier in the year. If he can start hitting, then put him in the lineup. Why is it so hard for you give any credit to Raburn? Did he violate your inflatable doll or something?

    Drunk_dup

  • He will box up a play or two at 3rd, just hope its not in late in the game when there is little chance to recover, as was the case against the Royals in 09.

Why do you still yearn for him to play? Are you hoping for the A&W .25 hot dogs? Its ok to want better standards of play, isn't it? I would prefer a major leaguer..........Crazy, aint it/?
