A little news out of Iowa

  • SpartanInNH said...

There has to be more to the story.

    Mike Hlas ‏ @Hlas

De'Andre Johnson dismissed from Iowa football team.

Ticketed for a disorderly house (i.e. loud party) Thursday, and then cited for speeding and eluding arrest on Saturday.

Honestly, that looks like the resume of a Hawkeye starter to me.

Speaking of grammar, I need to write up a lesson for my students tomorrow. I want to discuss cliches and incorporate real world events at the same time (Keep it relevant!) How are these?

Penn State officials exemplify that "pride comes before the fall."

Joe Paterno is a "tragic hero."

Penn State football has to "climb another mountain."

Then, for specificity's sake, they remove the cliche and insert more original language.

    Fuck you.

I'm sorry, is there anyone in the country that will line up at RB for Iowa?

Exactly my point. Ferentz is the guy who did his best to prevent an investigation into rape allegations on the part of several players a few years back -- but a house party, speeding, and running from the cops is suddenly "not the Hawkeye Way"?

  • There's an awful joke about an Iowa- Penn state game ... It involves kidneys vs kids knees. .....rather than be banned I'll just say

Piss off loser stuck in Iowa. Xoxo. Enjoy 4 wins and your awesome views. Peace.

Ps, edit: your office is a shithole that was dated by 1981. Real nice. Dildo.

  • Just to keep Iowa's rep up, Tyler sash got suspended for the first four games of the NFL season due to failed drug test (adderall)

Tyler Sash of New York Giants suspended four games - ESPN New York

Safety Tyler Sash has been suspended by the NFL without pay for the New York Giants' first four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances.

He says it was Adderall, prescribed by his doctor. The NFL won't comment, due to confidentiality concerns. And yet Sash's own teammate, Andre Brown, got his PED suspension lifted for use of the same drug, also prescribed by his doctor. The NFL refused to lift Sash's suspension.

Hmmm. I wonder if the PED Sash took was actually Adderall, or if he just knew that the NFL wouldn't out him if he claimed that's what he took.

    Hmmmm.
