Jesus. This board is moderated maybe about 50% as much as the old board. Maybe even less than that. You whiners have no idea how good you've got it.

As someone who has been a moderator for over 5 years, I can tell you as a 100% fact that you are wrong. So much more gets let go on this place that it's not even funny. There are so few moderating tools that most of us have practically given up on trying.

I'm sure your perception has changed since you feel you were wronged, but for someone doing the job, we leave so much more alone now than we did before. The biggest problem in perception is that so much goes unmoderated that the things that are stand out like a sore thumb.

Everyone talks about how they'd pay sooooo much for the old board. Well, you didn't. Like 5% of members did. Now, Trevor gets to actually sleep at night. He doesn't need to get paged because the server crashed. He doesn't need to deal with all the crap that the board caused. This board would be great if it weren't for all the posters.

Not sure who you quoted in your Trevor sleeps post AA. Fellow mod by accident? If it was aimed at me.....yawn

My guess is that threads and comments on this board possibly get deleted at a higher rate because there is no filter. On the old board if you were to say "fuck," it would show up "****," causing a thread with a lot of motherfucking god damn shitty swear words to look like "mother******* god **** ****** swear words." That also went for the word gay and fag too. If there wasn't a filter on the old board, I'm guessing more comments/threads would have been deleted.

Or maybe AA is right and it's just the whiners that are bringing more attention to the thread locks and deletion of comments which make people think there is more of a moderator presence.

Was that thread deleted? I thought it was just locked. That thread had potential, but one bigot ruined the whole thing. To you, it was a grand injustice. To us, it was shutting down a moron who was spoiling a potential good discussion. With him posting so much and everyone quoting him, that's a pain in the ass. One post deleted at a time. Takes about 15-20 seconds to delete each post. Then the thread reloads to page one when you're done. It pretty much sucks.

Here's what i said exactly to you:
"I locked your thread. It's not a topic for our board and there were plenty of comments that would escalate the thread. It served no useful purpose.

If you are attempting to tell people that being gay is okay...great. More power to you. It's probably a better topic for Wells."

I stand by that. there were some very good comments in that thread but on a board where people regularly defend the use of the word "gay" to mean "stupid" and say "no homo" and garbage like that, it was a thread that would easily get out of hand. I offered to move it to wells and unlock it, but you were too busy getting in a tizzy about it to even think rationally.

You got a ban, not for starting that thread, but for repeatedly complaining about it getting locked (and the subsequent threads getting locked)...and then complaining about the mods...over and over again.

Thread was locked. I was even-tempered in my complaints for quite awhile... Then banned.

I called out this 247 thing and got banned. At least I was wise enough tostop giving them Money forevermore.

Til that takes root....brush up on your German...or Russian
