ASU to Renovate Sun Devil Stadium

  • This may include a cloth canopy to provide shade. The Cardinals used to play afternoon games here. It was brutal to sit in the sun for a game. I assume that most games are at night for this reason, but ESPN/ABC rarely pick-up the Saturday evening games. This should help attendance (which is terrible) and TV coverage. But $300 million?

Major renovations for Sun Devil Stadium?

  • Even at night, it is pretty brutal in September.

hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.

  • Went I went there, kickoff was always at 7, students had tix at the 50 yard line, there was only a chain link fence seperating players from crowd and it was one of the first to have a jumbo screen. Also, since it rarely sold out, you where guaranteed to get on the jumbo screen at some point. And while the cloth idea sounds good for the sun, I have a feeling it is also to keep people from watching for free from A mountain.

Yes; there are some beautiful girls at ASU. I will probably have at least one son attending there in the next few years. We visited campus after the Blue Man Group concert at Gammage last November. ASU moved up their lists. This would definitely save me some money. Of course, their MSU visit for the UM game last October left them all wide-eyed. There's nothing like a Big-Ten rivalry game and the campus/girls looked great!

My kid (no pics haha) LOVES MSU but couldnt see herself moving 9 hours from Mom and Pop. So she is at UT. She would have went for free at either place, but it is nice to have her close. She is an athlete and competes for UT, but her dorm room is filled with MSU gear!

  • Went to the MSU - ASU game there back in the 80s. My neck was sore looking at all of the hot women in Tempe - a ridiculous concentration of them there (the anti-AA?). How they can't recruit with all of that talent is one of life's great mysteries.

  • With those renovations, maybe they could share the stadium with a NFL team. I hear the Rams are considering moving.

You did a great job raising her, GB!

I see what you did there.

  • OK, pictures (but not the kind most members are looking for).

The drawings do look pretty cool, but I don't know how the fabric will handle high wind. High winds have damaged the Cardinals training facility in Tempe and the fabric portion of the Cardinals' stadium in Glendale.
