Addition by subtraction going forward next year

So shooting terrible and giving the ball away a TON is fine with you. Thankfully Appling bailed him out by making a great catch yesterday on a ball that was headed into the backcourt, or we could have added another turnover. Careless with the ball consistantly, and not coming up big in big games is worth calling out to me. If it isnt to you, i could care less.

I'm definitely the minority, but I agree with everything you've said.

He's a good player and has had a great year. For people to compare him to Magic and Mateen is crazy. I think it's mostly the media train that's all over Green and his influence, hence, why nobody can see some of the issues you bring up.

Why wait until after this season? Let's get the pitchforks and run tB10 POY out of town today! 3 titles in 4 years just doesn't cut it for tRCMB.

This place is a cesspool sometimes.

    Exactly

I look at a recent NBA draft analysis that showed him as the 98th pick in the draft.

    You are a retard.

There is no 98th pick in the NBA draft.

The thing you looked at was ranking every draft prospect (freshman, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and international players). It is not a mock draft.

  • So much hate for the OP.

Green is a very good player WHEN he plays within himself and within the game. He isn't the hot handed game winner that everyone thinks. Unfortunately!

I love what he's given MSU but he makes enough mistakes per game to drive you crazy sometimes.

Congrats on a B1G Championship and stay within your game for the next nine games (see what I did there ).

Sorry brother but you are suggesting that this team is or will be better off without it's best player. The entire premise is ridiculous.

"Good riddance, one of the greatest Spartans of all time!"

Although I disagree with the OP, in fairness, isn't your quote pretty much the prevailing attitude this board has had towards Kalin Lucas?
The kid was Big Ten POY, part of 2 Big Ten championships, a Final Four playing and one that he unfortunately missed, had multiple clutch (clutch!) moments in his career, worked his way back from a devastating injury, and because of a rough senior season was basically hung with a reputation that he was part of (or a good chunk of) the problem.
Draymond was on that team, too, by the way. People blame Lucas/Summers because they were seniors, but Draymond was part of a mix that somehow came to less than the sum of its parts. When folks say he is as good a leader as Cleaves, I try to imagine Mateen allowing things to fall apart like that, and I don't see it happening...but maybe the personalities were just too strong. Hard to say. I don't fault Draymond for it any more than I fault Lucas for it, but they were both on that team.
Each team and season is a new mix. To me, it's not a "positive" when you lose a guy, but things shift and other guys step up and the mix changes. If the pieces come together, you get what we had this year. If they don't, you get what we had last year. It's part of what makes it fun to follow these teams. But it's just extraordinarily dismissive of the effort that a guy has given in his career to frame that adjustment as the team being "better off without them". I just wish that attitude applied to Kalin Lucas around here, too.

    Your reading skills are troubling.
I said NEXT years team may end up having more upside than the team this year does, via addition by subtraction. I then stated my case as to why

    I agree, WHEN he does.
But as the stats clearly show, when playing the best teams on the schedule, he shoots poorly and turns the ball over a lot. This is an all year thing. Did it the first game, did it the last game, and at most of the important moments in between, with a temper tantrum occasionally thrown in for good measure.
I wish i had a buck for every time he argued with a ref instead of running back to play defense. More than any kid in the nation i have watched play this year.
Hey, he has had his moments, but he has gotten the velvet touch by the media and everybody else, and when you look at what he has done in big monents, he flat hasnt shown up by and large.

This is the point where you drop the attempted reasoning and just go big Sean on him. Pathetic trash.

I am not attempting anything. I pointed out facts, backed them up with verifiable statistics, and drew the obvious conclusion that information suggests.
I even forgot in my Op the two blown free throws against Wisky@ Wisky right near the end that should have salted that game away. Just another point to add to the many i have correctly made, popular or not.
Now you liking it and dealing with it is up to you. I stopped trying to win popularity contests back in 5th grade.
Maybe next year when you get there you will also

All the games we lost or didn't win by a big enough margin are Greens fault. All the games we won by margins acceptable to blobs of lard like you were just things that any competent player could've accomplished. Yea, you should really fill out an application for the head job at MSU. It would give us a chance to really fix the damage that Izzo and his complete inability to procure or develop talent have caused to this program. You can do it big Sean!!

Apparently you have a watching-basketball disorder. GOOD players aren't first team all-American.

    Dr Draymond

  • I have news for everyone, most players have flaws, even the great ones. I was a huge Draymond critic for even part of this season, but it is time to lay off the kid. It is the same shit everyone said about Kalin Lucas, but wouldn't we just kill to have him at point right now?

I bet you are the same guy talking about how much you would love to have William Buford, an athletic tall wing. That same guy, has also completely disappeared at times. Everyone has good games and bad games. As a whole, this team would middle of the pack without Draymond. The entire offense runs through him.

    RecBallLegend22804

  • Even I think that the OP is a douchenozzle.

Yes, the one criticism everyone has of Green is his whining, and it more than likely cost MSU a one seed and outright title by getting those techs in the two games.

Green also never developed into the late game closer Kalin was which is mildy disappointing too. At UM and home against OSU come to mind.

With that said, we are nitpicking one of the all time grats to wear a Spartan uni. Green afterall is the B10 POTY.

    what a stupid statement.

Is Enes Kanter a great player?
    Bismack Biyombo?
    Jan Vesely?
    Jonas Valanciunas?

all were lottery picks in the 2011 nba draft.

Betting on upside with most above, Draymond has played 4 years of college ball and still isnt considered a first rounder right at this minute by hardly anybody. Kantner is much younger, frankly the other guys i would have to research.

Long story short, nobody in the NBA currently considers Green a first round impact player , but plenty of guys that arent first team all America are. Politics, being in the right place at the right time and other factors play into who gets style points and honors.I am not argueing if he is going to be first tream this, or first team that, so what.

But this is getting off track, i stated he has bad stats against good teams, and will be more replacable going forward than most think he will. I stand by that. Obviously people going forward who are going to be check writers agree with me, and have looked at what he has actually done against good teams.
