I hope the kid gets an offer - seems like King is on the verge of producing some big time prospects and I'd really like to see MSU develop a strong footing there.

Hmmm...trying to connect some dots here...how many more CBs are we taking this cycle?
Hicks talked to Dantonio today and is thinking about committing soon. With Allen waiting for news it seems possible that Coach D gave Hicks a deadline and basically said if you don't commit by this date we're sending out an offer that we think will take your spot ASAP. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I guess it's good news that we can be selective and that the staff thinks we can pull in a more talented player. Best of luck to this young man. There are worse things in the world than getting a free college education and playing football at an upper-level Big Ten program.

Apparently Allen's commit to Iowa is not a done deal. Iowa wants him to visit before accepting his commitment. He is planning to visit Iowa at the end of July.
MSU may have a decision from Hicks by then. If Hicks were not to choose MSU which doesn't seem likely now, then they may offer Allen before he visits Iowa.

I used to really enjoy following recruiting coverage. Now, I'll just pay attention to what is being said about the redshirt freshman after they've been in the system for a year or so. These kids don't have a clue where they want to go, and sometimes it seems like they don't even know when they have a commitable offer. Not to mention all they hype that surrounds guys like Will Campbell who ends up a bust, and guys like Leveon Bell had never been mentioned by anyone until he committed to MSU just before NSD, and he's surpassed damn near everyone that came into the B1G with him.
