That'd be a blessing in the skies if Maxwell was a returning starter coming off of a good year. He needs as many reps as the #1 guy as possible.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I don't think Maxwell needs much more work in practice. Him missing games at the beginning of the season against bad competition would be a horrible outcome, but missing time in practice in the spring doesn't matter. It only helps to have our backups get a little bit of work in with the 1st team in case something happens to Maxwell during the season.
FYI - Edit - Apparently I don't spend enough time on the intrawebs. I'm not a newb but i don't read every thread to know all the inside jokes.

Whatever happened to that transfer QB from Oklahoma? I think his name is Knuckles. Can MSU put him in at QB?
