Heading down tomorrow. Other than drink 30 beers and eat 5 bacon wrapped hot dogs anyone have any tips?

It's impossible not to have fun at a NASCAR race. Be sure to walk down by the fence at least once while the pack is at full speed.

The midway off of turn 4 is pretty good in Daytona. Also the new fan zone in the infield is really good. You can stand on top of the garages and watch the activities or look through the garage stall windows while they work on the cars.

If you are there for the racing sit up high, as it will give you the best view. Can't go wrong with standing by the fence when the pack comes by.. The fan zone is really cool as stated above..plus they have bands and beer stands all over the place.

Congrats, you will be there for the best day of the weekend. If you have a favorite driver (and $50), rent a radio scanner and listen to him.

take sunscreen and maybe an umbrella, if you've been up north all winter, sitting up high along the front stretch (which is where most everybody will want to be) the sun will be wicked. As was said, def stand by the fence at least once when the pack comes by, and tell JPM I said 'hi'

This is a must have, even with the 50 dollar price. Makes you feel even closer to the race than you already are.

Thanks everyone. Just got to Jacksonville for the night and will head to Daytona in the morning. I'm going to get to the track by 10 so I have plenty of time to pre game with the rednecks.
I have a scanner, plenty of beer, and an old joe camel shirt that I will be wearing to try to fit in.
Is the fan zone free? I'd like to check it out.

I've never been to the Duels, or even Daytona for that matter, but I would try to get there before 10 if ya can. There is a ton of stuff to see outside around the track...all of the displays, merchandise, exhibits, etc. When I go to Loudon or MIS I usually get there around 6 or 7am. But if you can't get there before that, no worries. Have a blast

fan zone is a must...duals and nationwide are perfect for the infield. avoid the fan zone for the 500...too many damn people to find and keep good spots.
