Thinking of picking up some extra chedda; reffed randomly throughout my formative years, know the rules but would have to obviously know the MHSAA's specific rules/regulations backwards and forwards. Played in high school and have coached high school girls before. Any thoughts or tips on becoming an official? Worth it?
Brady Hoke is fat.
A little late for this year.
Don't know where you live but your best bet is to get certified and hope you can pick up middle school and freshman games next season. I know guys who go to places like The Court House, Summit and other basketball places and work games for middle schooler than high school age players in the summer.
You need to get yourself a spot on a crew that works regularly. Don't believe all the BS ads you'll see running on FoxSports about needing officials. Reality is its a good ole boys club where the HS AD's hire the same crews every year. In West MI I know 65-72 year old guys who have been working for 35-40 years.
Are you at least 65 years old, have had a hip replacement, are so arthritic you can only hobble instead of run, have poor vision and an ill fitting toupee?
If so , I can you use to referee our conference games. Call me.
