Anyone on here have a hole in one?

  • Came real close Sunday night on 17 at Shepherd's Hollow. 8 iron from 155. Ball spun back a bit and took the slope and stopped a foot away. Not sure how it stopped, I had a short downhill putt I had to give a love tap to. Had that ball kept going, it would have went in. I made the birdie putt.

  • Unfortunately no, but both of my parents have one. Dad on a par 3, 150. Was there as a witness which was cool.

My mom had one on a par 3, 120 yard with her driver. I wasn't there to witness it, but my brother almost quit golf that day.

Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons.

  • Just recently I hit the pin rolling. Closest I've ever got.

  • Yep, first time I took my son to a golf course after about 35 years of playing. Made Titleist.com and everything.

That was cool but what is really fucking sad is that I've totally lost it. I used to be a single-digit handicap with forged irons - this weekend I played in an outing where I two-chipped, took snapping turtle-sized divots on 75-yard gap wedges and didn't even advance the ball, flat topped a few drives and a couple of fairway woods, and flared several mid-irons to the right about 125 yards. And the previous day I had 84 and was well pleased...I'm not looking for advice, I've heard it all - I'm just venting....if you think the mind doesn't matter in this game you are destined for fuckery...rant

  • 17th at Brae Burn. 315 yard par 4. I skipped 18 and haven't golfed since. Went out on top...even though I shot a 91 thru 17 holes.

You know that you have to finish atleast the nine for the hole in one to officially count

  • missed one by 1 GD inch, the ball landed about a foot and a half past the hole and spun back. Don't ask me how I spun it, I suck at the game. It was in a golf outing and I would have won a driver. Needless to say I won closest to the pin that day and won a round at the same shitty course the outing was at. It was a 140 yard down hill hole, I believe I hit an 8 iron into the wind.

  • I've had one, no. 10 at Indianwood (New Course), PW from 125. Played that round with my Dad, the green is quite elevated from the tee so you can't see the hole until you get up there, pretty cool.

  • Five and one went off a tree, seriously.

  • I am a firm believer that hole-in-ones have little to do with ability but rather opportunities. As in, if you are the best golfer in the world, but only play a dozen times a year you may never get a hole in one. I know a few people who are not great golfers, 18-24 handicap, but have had one or more hole-in-ones because they play two or more times a week. If you throw enough balls at the green, eventually one may go in.

  • Nope, but I hit the flag on a pin once and it dropped about 6 inches away. The very next round on the same hole I hit the pin. This one was much crueler. I didn't see it on the green and thought it was in. The damn ball ended up ricocheting into a bunker.

True. I'm a 10 handicap but play a lot of golf. If you stand in a bunch of thunderstorms, eventually you will be struck by lightning.

  • I am a terrible golfer and happy to break 100, but my brother is a pro out in California. Earlier this year he hit his first ace at 230 yards with his 3 wood.

    I'm lost

  • Haven't gotten one to drop. I did hole out the other day from 160 on a long par 4.

    BigGreenHouse

  • When I was a Freshman at UF I had about a 4 month stretch where I golfed everyday. I still wasnt very good at it, and I should have been studying.

I hopped a shit-ton of trees on a dogleg par 4. (I was playing with orange, topflight, with my grandfathers initials on them) I didnt see where the ball came out. I searched for the ball. Looked in the trees as far as I dared to go. I looked over the green, figuring maybe I sailed it. Finally, I dropped a ball, and continued to play from the edge of the trees (no stroke penalty if there is no one there to count it, right?)

I ended up chipping on in from about 5 feet off the green for an adulterated Birdy. When I got to the cup, both balls were in the hole!!!

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
No witnesses. No hole in one.

I packed up my clubs and didnt play golf again for about 2 years. and my last hole was a hole in one.

Now I just suck at the game.

  • and my Practice Mother in law, on a par 3 at. . . . damn, cant remember the name of the course, Out on Eaton Rapids Rd, near Holt Rd.

About 10am, a six pack into the round, she hit a worm burner. damn thing never got more than a foot off the ground, It hit the green at about 100mph. Hit the stick, bounced straight back, and then spun BACK TO THE HOLE. It stopped less than an inch short of dropping in. "Count it william" BULLSHIT LADY! You wont let me foot wedge one out of the rough, you are playing that damn ball where it lies!!!

She probably still calls it a hole in one. I was certainly the goofiest damn near miss that I have ever seen.

  • I've had 2, about 6 months apart. The only ones I've ever been a witness to.

  • If I get the ball on the green in one, I count it a hole in one. not my fault that the cup wasn't where my ball landed

    Drunk_dup

  • I just had a cold cut combo from subway. Talk about a hole in one

    Drunk_dup

  • Closest I've come was about 2 inches away from the cup. But my dad had one at a course in Kalamazoo.

    Nommad

  • Put one in from 180 at the Quarry in Canton, OH. Too bad my first one went in the water.

    Par from the tee.

Big deal. Kim Jong Il had 5 in one round, and it was hs first time golfing!

    http://listverse.com/2010/05/30/top-10-crazy-facts-about-kim-jong-il/

"In 1994, it was reported by Pyongyang media outlets that Kim Jong Il shot 38 under par on a regulation 18-hole golf course – including 5 holes in one! That score is 25 shots better than the best round in history, and is made even more amazing by the fact that it was his first time playing the sport. It’s said Kim Jong Il would routinely sink 3 or 4 holes in one per round of golf, and – lucky for the PGA – he has since given it up."

  • This thread has me so confused. I thought every guy who posted on tRCMB always got a hole in one when golfing (while simultaneously receiving a bj from their super-model gf)?
