It's in my top three for sure. All of their blends have been tasty. There is a really cool coffee house in Port Huron (of all places) that carries their products.

  • Ok Bob, I have a question I've been meaning to ask. A Walverine is someone who is a Michigan fan but did not attend Michigan, correct? I go to GVSU, does that mean I cannot be a true Spartan fan? Does it mean I can only be some sort of sub class of Spartan? Is being a Walmart Spartan the best I can ever hope to be?

Hey dude - thanks for the questions..

I've never fully been able to comprehend the concept of fandom as it relates to a college or university that someone may or may not have attended. For instance, I have 2 advanced degrees from MSU (and, believe me, nobody is more surprised than I am by that fact).. however, I don't consider myself some sort of MSU super-duper sports mega-fan just because they allowed me to gain a certain bit of knowledge and learn to navigate through various life-lesson hoops on their campus...

so, by that same logic, it seems perfectly reasonable that someone who didn't attend (or doesn't attend, in your case) MSU can indeed be a super-duper sports mega-fan at MSU - I think it's great that people have something that excites them..

I feel the same way about the "Walverines" or whatever.. just because I was never a member of the E Street Band doesn't mean I can't be a fan, correct?

so, dude, live it up - enjoy whatever you enjoy and don't allow anyone (especially anyone like me) to make you feel something less than you are.. an MSU fan who happens to go to another school.

I love how you people track my whereabouts.. lol

it's a good question - I'm not really sure why my travel in Michigan is extremely limited.. given that I've lived here for 20 years or so. I suppose when I have time, I prefer to go elsewhere... for various reasons...

well, of course... you'll be in East Lansing!! loveface

I just hope they don't tingle too much.. I'll be at a Bar Mitzvah and naughty tingling bits are typically frowned upon at such events..

What do you mean "you people" ?

P.S. I really appreciated your answer about fandom. I wish more people on here had that kind of view on it.

Yeah, but Port Huron actually has a couple solid eating spots. The Quay Street Brewery brews their own beer and is a pretty good place to eat on the river, and The Vintage Tavern is also a trendy spot. Add in the Alley Bar and you have four pretty good food/bar choices in a place you wouldn't expect.

Like the Vintage Tavern. Also Tony's Food Paradise for the win. It's just that the Raven seems like it would be a better fit for a college town (not to discount SC4, but I mean a larger public university) than PH.

  • Bob, my wife put $900, on the fifth horse, in the sixth race, the horses name was Chips Ahoy. Well Chips won by six lengths. What should my wife and I do with the money?

I would suggest that you consider putting it toward some painkillers.. though, admittedly, some nights the painkillers make the pain even worse..
