  • Good day today. 2 catches 26 yards and a TD. If they had a better quarterback he'd have more catches.

  • I thought QB play on the whole was atrocious. From what I could tell when I watched, BJ only got two targets in the second half: one was tipped at the line and fell short, and one was thrown a good 6 feet over his head.

  • It appeared only one QB played well. But keep in mind, these games can be wacky, the top RB from practice this week who was generating all the buzz only got 6 carries.

  • Not worried at all about BJ. He's gonna play on Sundays. Wish he could be a 1st rounder. Maybe he will. Combines will tell us more. Nevertheless, he's a Sunday player regardless of where he falls in the draft. Lock it!

  • Hells yeah! I think BJ is going to have a great pro career. Hope he gets rewarded for his hard work and performance in college by getting picked up by a good team

  • I think B.J. is going to be a starter for a long time in the NFL. Not worried about his speed. If he can run 4.6 or less, he will be fine. He does everything else great.

This. All-Star games like this are really tough for WR's. It all depends upon the QB play and unfortunately, the QB's at the East-West Shrine Bowl tend to be the 2nd tier of QB's for these games. The QB's at the Senior Bowl are much better NFL prospects (Kirk Cousins, Nick Foles, Russell Wilson, Brandon Weeden, Kellen Moore). Then there's also the issue of how important timing is between a QB and a WR and one week of practice with 3 different QB's is not going to build a great connection between players.

All of that being said, the week of practice is much more important for these players than the actual game. Yes, some guys are "gamers" and show up better for the actually game, but all the scouts watch practice very closely and BJ was getting a lot of praise throughout practice. This week can only help his draft stock.

    1st rounder...? In Canada, maybe.

The list below contains five players who have solidified themselves as Day 2 (Rounds 2-3) picks, and while others from this game inevitably will step up, these are five we feel good about putting squarely in the Day 2 range.

    Michigan State WR B.J. Cunningham
Cunningham does not have the top-end speed of some of this year's elite receiver prospcts, but his skill set is pretty complete otherwise. He has good size (6-foot-1⅜, 209 pounds) and body control, is a savvy route runner, and has solid ball skills. NFL comparison: Jason Hill, Jacksonville Jaguars

Scouts Inc. also has Cunningham going in the 2nd or 3rd round. Apparently they need to hire some real analysts from tRCMB, since BJ is obviously a 5th rounder at best according to you chumps.

For these postseason games, the actual games mean very little. The practices during the week are much more important as far as players showing off their skills to NFL teams.

If BJ Cunningham is a first rounder, he will have somehow miraculously dropped 2 tenths of a second off his 40 time. Kid does everything right, but doesn't have the quickness or speed to be a starter consistently at the next level.

Right, and receivers like Hines Ward never had a starting role in the NFL headslap

Then why is he being projected as a 2nd/3rd rounder?

Plenty of WRs without great speed have gone on to make a solid career in the NFL.

  • this. Route running and hands are crucial. Not just catching, but being able to get off the line of scrimmage. BJ seems to be a hard worker. It will serve him well in the NFL

Yeah. Saw him in the game against Cal, I think, and was all about him after that.
