Baseball team forfeits instead of facing girl

Due to thinking a woman's place is not on the field.

Girl baseball player, 15, cited for opponent's forfeit in Phoenix - ESPNHS

Instead of playing in a championship baseball game, Paige Sultzbach and her team won't even make it to the dugout.

Fucked up part is that the girl sat out the other games against them, total dick move by the school, which itself is an operating cult that has been banned from a majority of Catholic churches.

Good thing they didn't have 12-year-old girl Chelsea Baker on their schedule.
They would have lost without the forfeit.
This is a great piece by the 4 letter network.

It should be noted (particularly in the thread title) that the TEAM didn't necessarily forfeit the game. It was the SCHOOL who enforced their own rules on the team, and said they would not be playing.
I haven't seen quotes from every player, but I cannot imagine that the team didn't want to play. Maybe some of them were conforming to school policies and politics, but these are kids for Christ's sake (pun intended) and I am sure they just want to play balls (another pun).

My guess is the players aren't too happy not being able to play and LOSING without being able to play.

Lutheran schools in metro Detroit cannot play against a team in any sport which has a female on it. They will forfeit in football and concede the weight class in wrestling. I had a friend who coached wrestling for a Lutheran school. Hated the rule. His 105 pounder might have been state champ but couldn't get out of the individual district because a girl was in it. The Lutheran schools superintendent decreed it and everyone had to follow it. I think macomb Lutheran north forfeited a football game that messed up the playoffs somehow about 8 years ago but can't remember the details.
