Five Guys fries aren't bad but McDonald's still rule the fast food roost. I remember when the Portland newspaper had a bunch of famous European chefs (who were here for some conference or something) rate all the different fast foods they could manage. Of all foods and all places, the ONLY one that was rated as high as tolerable was McDonald's fries.

Of course, the best fries I've ever had were on the streets in Paris in the 80's and somewhere along the New Jersey coast (off the freeway) in the 90's.
