I love Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Bourdain is good at traveling and being a good chef, but he is more serious about it. Fieri is all about just eating American food.

This. With Bourdain, I feel like I am actually learning something about food. His first book Kitchen Confidential is an excellent read. Really enjoyed the way he talks about his love of food, plus his stories of the drug-fueled world of high end chefs

Fieri is a fatass that always talks about how good the food is and just nods his head whenever a chef is explaining how he makes his food

Bourdains show is awesome. It feels much deeper than just about what food they are eating. Guy just seems like a retarded douche, though I'll admit I have only seen his show briefly.

I like Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives better as a show, but Bourdain is a better personality by far. Not really a knock against Fieri because he still does a good job, but Bourdain is just really good. I just happen to like how Fieri's show works better than Bourdain's.

I'd liken this comparison to Dick Vitale versus Bill Walton. One has functional knowledge of his trade and has made a career out of being a hype machine, pandering to his audience, and pointing out the obvious. The other has deep technical knowledge, rich historical perspective, has done a lot of drugs, and rubs most people the wrong way.

If you enjoy the unique cultural aspects of food, Bourdain is your man. Read his books. He's a great writer, tells hilarious stories, and will educate you on food with a heavy dose of a irreverence.

If you enjoy mindless television, and are looking for big and flavorful bites of things, that's Fieri.

That is absurd. I could see how the smug crowd might not like Fieri(too above their level I guess), but Bourdain is right up their alley.

Fieri is a raging douchebag and a one-trick pony. Bourdain knows his stuff, takes you to some incredibly interesting locales, and his buddy Zamir is a riot.

Fieri is better than you think. "Guy's Big Bite" is a fantastic show, and he cooks great food.
