bourdain's shows are always pretty cool. the guy is a pompous douche, but also entertaining, so you don't really hate him for being such a pretentious git.
it's funny when he slams paula deen though. i used to put it down to him just being an ass, but the more i hear about her, the less i like her.

Your pretty much on the money here.
Bourdain has a hard on for anyone who made it on the Food Network. Emeril and Paula are his favorite punching bags. I've never been to any of Paulas joints but I love NOLA in the Quarter and the original Emerils in the CBD. Never had a bad meal in either, impeccable service and the original Emerils opened prior to the FN show and NOLA may have also. Bourdains books are entertaining and his shows usually are worth watching but you can't miss the chip he's got on his shoulder.

Trash TV? That is lunacy. I like Bourdain, but Fieri is the star of the Food Network. Everyone needs to get off Guy's nuts.

Maybe he's just pissed that they all had successful restaurants of their own prior to food network and if I am not mistaken, he has not. I don't think Bourdain has ever had his own place. Armchair analysis on my part but something has him ticked off. What's your beef with the fn "stars"? Is it just "reality" TV sucks in general perhaps.
