Big Ten Schools as Game of Thrones Characters

  • We're Gendry

"Gendry is the bastard son of the former king Robert Baratheon. Because an inbred child not actually related to the former king is sitting on the throne, there are some that believe Gendry is the rightful heir to the throne. Michigan State has almost all the same advantages as its neighboring king (Wolverines), and there are some that believe it should be crowned. The Spartans have marched plenty of talent through East Lansing but have never been able to steal the mantle, but of late, some of the big boys have taken aim. Michigan State, like Gendry, is also hard to hate, unless you are Michigan."

MSU-tyrion lannister: a little brother who's intellect and hard work has turned him into the most impressive member of his family.

UM-Cersei Lannister: a paranoid, incest loving twat who thinks she's the most powerful person in the kingdom and that's too arrogant and ignorant to know that her world is falling apart and her little brother is a key player in that collapse.

OSU-Janos Slynt: a corrupt, morally inept douche who's treachery earned him a trip to the wall ( or the NCAA violations committee). Gained all sorts of power before he/they were put in their place. Like Slynts trip to the wall and subsequent beheading, OSUs violations may yet warrant a worse punishment.

Illinois-children of the forest: were pretty good a long time ago. Nobody can really explain where they went or in Illinois case, why they constantly disappear when their talent should dictate otherwise

Iowa-Qyburn; inflicts horrible physical damage upon those that come into his care. And like Iowa, most of his transgressions are swept under the rug. Not sure if he's as physically attractive as Ferentz, you'd have to ask Doug "howler" karsch, but just as morally reprehensible.

    Indiana-Hodor: a retarded program

Minnesota-Crannogmen: nothing all that special about them. You forget they exist sometimes because they never do anything of note. Can sneak up on the occasional foe.

Nebraska-Visceris Targaryen: comes from a strong tradition that dates back many years His new alliance didn't work out as he planned and he got a rude awakening to his new surroundings.

Northwestern-Varis: not the most athletically gifted or physically gifted. But damn are they smart

Penn St-White Walkers: the owners of a deep and horrible secret that the rest of the continent becomes painfully aware of. The White Walkers never embraced peder rape so this may be a bit unfair to them.

Purdue-Jayne Westerling: helps those injured and suffering (like all of PUs qb's end up) while occassionally doing something noteworthy (going to a new years bowl in PU's case or landing yourself a king in Jeyne' case)

Wisconsin-Dontos Hollard: a fat, red faced drunkard who makes a fool of himself when it matters most. (see rose bowls or NCAA tournament). Gets a cross bow bolt to the chest like Bielema and Ryan so rightfully deserve.

"Losing Benenoch is a mortal blow from which this program can't recover"-T-Pain

  • I actually like the comparison by one of the commenters of UM to Viserys

    Paul June 7, 2012 - 4:05 PM

"Way off on Meechigan. A much better match is Viserys Tagrgareon, the self proclaimed Dragon King who lives off of stories of his families past glory, tells everyone how formidable he is, and is basically an arrogant ass whose own relative stands by when everyone tires of his incessant boasting of how he deserves a golden winged helmet, er I mean crown."

That was mine. The author's original comparison made me puke in my mouth a little and so I thought it appropriate to offer a more appropriate interpretation for those who don't get the urge to open wide and swallow every time someone mentions the corn and blue.
