Board Question (to stop the trolling)

Why not charge $5 per user name so the nucky and Ross's of the world have a little less incentive to troll, cut down on the schticks, or at the very least profit off their trolling?

I was thinking that but aren't they just creating new email addresses to sign up for new usernames? As far as the the 247 brain trust knows, they're all the first, right?

Yes it would work just fine. Each email address requires $5 to create a screen name... they can create them with as many IP addresses or email addresses as they want, each one would cost $5.
EDIT: Further, I see where you're confused by my proposal... you're assuming the "first" one would be free. I'm suggesting that you'd pay $5 for your first one.

OK. If every single user name carried a $5 charge, then it would at least slow down trolls. Then they'd just spend $5 every time they decided to get their stupid on.
