I agree wholeheartedly. You really couldn't pick two hitters who are more different from one another. Abreu has some of the best plate discipline I've ever seen, and Young has some of the worst.

I'd be ok for it. I'm not a Delmon fan and never will be. Terrible approach to hitting

Rick Porcello was born in 1988
Drew Smyly was born in 1989
Bobby Abreu was signed by the Astros in 1990
Jacob Turner was born in 1991
That's the reason why. It's easy to cut the 38 year old OF who can't play in the field, and hasn't been hitting. Also, if the Tigers were hypothetically to cut ties with Delmon, I would highly doubt that they would sign a left-handed hitting outfielder. They already have 2 of them in Boesch and Dirks. How did the Ryan Strieby in LF experiment go a couple of years ago? I assume badly.
