Boise State deserves to be in a BCS conference.

  • The Big12 needs to make a play for TCU and Boise State. It might not make a huge market but could make higher level games. Say they lose Texas A&M but if they gain TCU and Boise State they still need to pluck somebody that is a big level market. I would say adding BYU could do that. Then they have a title game and could sustain

    Texas BYU
    TCU Boise State
    Baylor Iowa State
    Texas Tech Kansas
    Oklahoma Kansas State
    Okie State Missouri

Thats not a bad conference by any means. Boise State would jump at the chance, as I would imagine TCU would too. BYU would be tough.

What about the Big XII adding UNLV? Yes, they bring nothing when it comes to a team. But, they bring a market. Texas doesn't want anyone standing in their way and the BCS will not take away a AQ from a conference with Texas.

No, but I am pointing out that our schedule is not a 12 game gauntlet of bad ass teams like some make it sound like. I also don;t think it is a given that Boise would lose three games if they played in the Big Ten. Would they go undefeated? Tough to say and depends on how the schedule lines up.

They have beaten good teams early in the season, and late in the season. They have played in hostile enviroments against great teams and beaten them. Saying Boise would be worn down and doesn't have the depth is pure speculation. If they have starters that are better than other BCS teams starters, why should I assume that their backups drop off so much that they can't match other teams backups?

    clap exactly.

  • I think there lineman would eventually get worn down, but I think they would finish in the upper half of the big ten. Depth is key and not sure that Boise has it.

With all that said, I think Kellen Moore's wife is BCS level.

This is why I think the only answer is a play off. If Boise is artificially good because of their schedule, a playoff would expose them. If a BCS team allows Boise in, a play off may not be needed. But because of the current model, and restrictive atmosphere, the only answer is a play off that allows a school like Boise to compete.

On this we agree. I'm not saying pencil Boise into the MNC under the current system "just because." But I don't think we should shun them from it either. Ultimately, that benefits nobody. It doesn't benefit Boise, and it doesn't benefit college football. We need to find ways to decrease the chasm between the halves and have nots, not widen it.

If Boise was in the Big Ten they would be recruiting Big Ten talent. Therefore, they would have better depth which would negate some of that "wearing down." Not sure why everyone chooses to overlook this point.

  • If academics mean anything to the current BCS conferences, then Boise will never get an invite unless they are really desperate.

    Matters on the conference.
