Breaking Jim Bollman as new OC

That Bama offense shredded ND's defense for 28 points in the first half. You know, that ND defense that held MSU to 3 points, at home, the entire game.

So yeah, an offense that executes well and scores points is a necessary requirement in football.

Damn straight it is..........bama and south carolina are certainly exceptions to the rule...cheating, lying, stealing, $EC exceptions to the rule.

  • I think at this point Dantonio wants to continue to play the T.O.P. game with the offense, to enhance the job the defense can do. Clearly our execution didn't go as well as we'd have liked this year, but Coach D seems he would rather try and improve the system Roushar used that commit a complete overhaul.

Yes its necessary to not be 109th in the nation on offense.

I just don't understand the comment "the college game is geared toward offense". I don't know what that means. Oregon should have several national championships in that case.

Likely a good balance of offense and defense wins.

BTW - Alabama also held ND to 0 points in the first half.

How big a deal is it to hold last season's O to 3 points? Think of MSUs dropped TD pass & ask who really held MSU to 3 pts? Maybe MSUs O?

Bennie Fowler dropped 2 TDs by himself that game.

I think someone said we were like 3rd in the nation in TOP this year or something. Need to score touchdowns in the redzone. Conroy miss a lot of kicks in the RZ as well.

  • Would be nice to hear something from Dantonio or Hollis on this whole thing today...

    There is something going on.
Could be Purdue has a contract Bollman signed and they don't want to release him without additional MSU money.

Could be Bollman is having second thoughts or is finalizing what responsibilities the OC will have at MSU.

Could be something came up in background checks that Dantonio wasn't aware of when he spoke with Bollman.

There should at least be an announcement that they're going to make an announcement.

Probably waiting for Orangebloods to confirm.

    Don't post poop!

  • Bollman worked at MSU before and there is familiarity here. Hopefully just ironing out details.

Maybe Coach D will spring the announcement on Jacks show today???

    please don't speculate.

MSU fumbling around w/ this hire for a week sort of breeds speculation.

The teams that are punching above their weight in college football are doing it with offense. Bama, LSU, and Tressel-era Ohio State can play with boring, conservative offenses because their rosters are friggin' loaded with the best talent in the country.

Agreed...Hollis is probably using this as a smokescreen to mask the Pat Shurmer interviews.

It doesn't make sense. The fact that Hazell came out and confirmed it last week and we still haven't heard from MSU is very strange.
