Bret Beilema is a whiney B!tch

  • cesimon said...

    And you know that how?

I don't KNOW, but I have read that conjecture from UW fans and I have the ability to think logically. I think Beilema is a jack off, but he (or Alvarez) aren't going to complain about recruiting committed players to the B10. That's not "illegal". Contact during dead periods is. Not a big leap to take.

Oh, and the fact that OSU is dirty as fuck helps.

  • I think there are many withholding judgment on this until we know more specifics...

If it's just sour grapes about loosing a recruit that is one thing. If tOSU is breaking rules, then it is something altogether different.

You forget Wisconsin's two Rose Bowls?

and no the B1G has not been competitive. Not at all and not with each other. That's changing.

So do you have evidence of him being a "natural liar" or are you just talking out of your butthurt? Yea know the answer to that, you've got nothing.

Welcome to the real world B1G. Learn to keep a kid committed.

Ah, outside of last year's bama game, which was a crock that we were even in it, we were competitive every bowl game we played, and actually beat our SEC opponent this year.

uw blew games, through meathead's magical coaching ability. they weren't blown out.

tosu got to the big games, and managed to lose badly on the big stage, and it skewed how the entire b10 was viewed.

Let's see...the urban-to-tosu rumors began I believe in the summer. Urban denied them until after it was announced he had already accepted the job. He actually denied them for a few days after legit organizations reported it. I'd say that is a pretty big lie. Almost as big as saying he was done coaching forever due to his health.

I support Bielema when it comes to making sure your football program doesn't start rampantly cheating again.

In other words, you have no idea why you are supporting BB. You just don't like Meyer - who has done nothing wrong.

Keep telling yourself that. It's tO$U, only a matter of time.

  • After thinking about it...I actually like this move by Bielema. He is getting the media involved and having Alvarez put pressure on Jim Delaney in the public eye of what tOSU is doing. He is speaking up for the other 10 teams in the conference.

I think what needs to happen is that the University Presidents of the other 10 teams in the conference need to put pressure on Delaney. I don't think the Athletic Directors can really do much and are fairly powerless. The pressure needs to come from the University Presidents.

I have no problem with Meyer and I'll give him a fair shake. I just know he came from the SEC, where cheating is like breathing. You are an Ohio State fan, so you are going to support Meyer. Honestly, we don't have a dog in this fight, dude. This is you and Wisconsin. Yeah we're not too thrilled about losing Pittman but I think a lot of people were at least bracing for the possibility of it.

Like someone on here earlier said, Meyer was PROBABLY cutting corners and contacted kids in the dead period (not saying for certain but based on what I read). That's how staffs catch up when they are hired and they figure the slap on the wrist (if they're even caught) is worth bringing in a Top 10 class. Recruiting committed players is not illegal and Dodson took a visit here and you don't see Bielema turning us in.

  • A couple of things.
We don't know the specifics. Could be anything from gentleman agreements to actual NCAA violations. I am a Badger fan and think it would be stupid if Bielema was only complaining about gentleman agreements, unless those agreements were the only thing stopping Big Ten teams from committing the common violations that may take place in the SEC.

The bigger problem overall, IMO,is whether or not the hiring, and subsequent introduced practices, of Urban lead to the Big Ten doing things the wrong way. If Bielema has to be the "butt-hurt douch" to stop that from happening so be it. I realize he can do one hell of a job putting off opposing fan bases. So long as he doesn't cheat, I'll support him.

This all leads to the question of whether or not you want the Big Ten to emulate the SEC. Sure, I'd love a National Championship. But, if that means we need to sign way more than 85 kids count me out. Programs like UW and MSU should be banding together to demand the NCAA actually does something about this kind of stuff, not bitching about who has classless players or whose players are flopping vadgers.

Yeah that is what makes the most sense. A lot of rumors about Urban doing this at Florida.

regret? i hate saying it but that dudes title run starts next fall, hes going to eddie guerrero the big ten and win a bunch

Meyer ran as fast as he could away from the SEC where 2 Big 10 style coaches came in and introduced smash mouth to the SEC and have been dominating ever since. Meyer and Florida was falling behind Bama and LSU even though he was recruiting stud classes. Now SEC schools look to the hot bed of the coaching tree (OH-Pa) to find their coaches to lead and direct their great athletes. They say "screw the spread". Look at Spurrier. Totally left behind. Meyer will do well at OSU but not as well as Tressell did unless he learns quick and adapts to Big 10 style football.

  • Delaney will tell him to not embarrass the conference against TCU and then come back and cry. I am still so pissed at you guys for not kicking his fat ass in the champ game that was yours.

Most people do not want to admit it but all coaches were recruiting committed players all season.

Hoke was recruiting the same PSU guys that Urban did

Dantonio was recruiting Adolphus Washington and Kyle Dodson

Lets face it guys it happens. People are just making story out of something because they lost the commits.

I agree..,tOSU fans think they got some legend of a coach. The guy was getting destroyed his last two years while at Florida, claimed he was sick, went to ESPN, and now is back? He won't last in the B1G. His spread option will get destroyed in the conference. He couldn't even beat a Lloyd Carr coached football team with all the SEC talent he had (Tim Tebow) in the Outback or Capital One bowl forgot which one. That was the year Tebow set records.

Please explain how greed had anything to do with it. You really think tOSU playing in a another BCS bowl was going to bring in more revenue than MSU getting their first BCS bid?

The fact that both your teams could not sell out the conference championship 5 hours max from home, yeah lets not guarantee sold out bowl games

There is no indication that Bielema is simply mad about losing soft commit recruits. He has recruited kids who had given verbal commitments to other schools this year and in past years. He will most likely continue to do so.
The fact is that the Big 10 does things a certain way. A way that when Tressel was the OSU coach OSU fans would have supported. Fact is Urban is different. Seems like the internet OSU fans are all in. That doesn't mean the rest of the Big Ten is.
