Bubble bursting thread.

  • FIU may have gotten their league 2 bids by upsetting Middle Tennessee. However, MTSU has zero top 50 wins. Will be toughest call.

  • Zero top 50 wins. Best win was over Ole Miss by 3 at home. That's not a tough call at all. They're NIT bound.

  • RPI was 25 before this game. They didn't just win their conference in the regular season. They absolutely dominated it.

    They choked this year just like they did last year and I bet they head back to the NIT because of it.

    RPI is an organizing tool; the utter lack of good wins will have them toast.

  • Hopefully MSU never has to sweat out getting an invite again in my lifetime...I remember it really happening only once within the last 15 years or so?...was it the year we got bounced by NC State, 2002 I think? Needed to win our last 2 or 3 to secure a bid

  • It's a fairly easy call. They aren't getting in. Only small conference I think that had a legit argument for two bids that maybe some weren't expecting (West Coast or Missouri Valley for instance are pretty much expected to get two bids) is the OVC had Murray State beaten Belmont. Belmont might have gotten in as an at-large with a non-con SOS of 2 and six wins over RPI Top 100.

    The three toughest calls IMO are going to be Virginia, Baylor and Tennessee.

    We were a bubble team two years ago until we mauled Purdue on Friday of the BTT.

    Yeah, Belmont is a legit NCAA tournament team. Depending upon the match-up, they'll be one of my favorites to pull off an upset in the first round of the NCAA tournament. They absolutely destroyed Middle Tennessee State when they played and they went to California and beat Stanford in Palo Alto (even in a down year as Stanford is 18-13 and 9-9 in the Pac12, that's still a good win for a school like Belmont) For what it's worth, ESPN has them as an 11 seed in the latest bracketology
