Really disappointed that it's not airing in the U.S. Even non-hockey fans can appreciate it, I think...certainly more than those tired horse commercials.
The extras were apparently hired to "watch a sporting event" and were paid $150 to do it...basically a real version of the B1GCG.

I think that's a great spot. Clever idea and well produced.
Here's the cynic in me--and I just can't hold back. In what I am assuming is a small town/community, how did it not get spread around to the players that this was what was going to happen? I just don't believe that it was the surprise that they want us to believe it was.
Still, a strong production. Well done.

That was totally cool. GREAT idea. Agree it's a shame it won't show in the US, I'd sure as heck vote for it as 'best commercial'. And also agree that you don't need to be a hockey fan to appreciate that. Anybody who's ever played in a rec sports league of any kind can get into it. (EDIT - And not only that, but if you're even a casual hockey fan some of those goals were pretty damn impressive, especially for a rec league. Of course, it is Canada).
I wonder if they prepped the fans with any team info or scouting reports? "OK, you ten are the fan club for #20 on the Hawks - here are some cheers to use"
