why is it that when you talk about a person who was sentenced to death after the deed was done as being "hanged" and not "hung" yet we refer to the feeling after a night of moderate to heavy drinking has being "hung over" wouldn't we say "I'm hanged over?"

Today sucks. I'm staring down a 3-day weekend with MSU football (a lot of other good football too) and I basically just want to go back to bed. Instead I'm drinking my Starbucks surfing the RCMB. I've done at least 30 minutes of work. Ran some errands. Took a 2 hour lunch at Pf Chang's. I think I'm about to open a bottle of whiskey. Seems an appropriate way to end this year. Maybe go fuck up some people's offices I don't like here at work.
