Bump when you order/renew MSU football tickets (2012 edition)

  • I seem to recall trying to re-order last year online and was only allowed to do so between the ticket office hours, something ridiculous like between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Please tell me they've changed this. Would like to get it over with tonight.

  • I did it last night around midnight. No problems here.

  • Bump for a couple days ago. Got my CMU tix too. With that plus IU and UM in the middle of the schedule, it might be possible to go to the first 8 games.

  • Retroactive Bump, renewed the first week in Feb, by added two more seats and increased donar level...so I still need to pick seats. It's my 10th season as a non student season ticket holder, 15th overall. Outside of moving out of student tickets, this will be our first move...hope it goes smoothly.

I added another ticket for a friend. I already sit with some other friends but hopefully this move goes well. I moved up for basketball. This time, I just want to be slightly better, in roughly the same area.

I'll be happy to be away from the old guy behind me who is always yelling "sit down!"

I'll be happy to move away from the young alumni 'hipsters' who sit in front of me who show up to games late, get kicked out for being drunk early and generally act obnoxious They don't stand or anything they just watch little of what's going on in the game and are there generally to extend their pregame tailgate to inside the stadium.

Also, one kid is old enough to go to all the games, and when sitting in a corner, it takes a long time to get out of the stadium after a close game due to 4 large sections dumping into one entry.

I must be getting old because that stuff didn't annoy me until this year. I wonder how long it will be before I become the old guy telling people to shut up and sit down in front of me...

My oldest is old enough to go and has been to a few games. My son now feels he is old enough and wants to go.

This is why we play EMU, FAU, etc. I will never take my kids to a UM/UW/ND game. Those are Frank the Tank games for me.

I am forced to grow old, I refuse to grow up.

I agree about taking the kids to crap games only I've done this, but there were a couple cases last year for them even that tWife and my son both wanted to go and we were scrambling for an extra ticket. Indiana, for example, last year.

But no, we won't take them to night/Mich/ND...and maybe even not to Wisconsin/OSU/Iowa.

Took both my oldest son and my little. Girl to @Northwestern a couple years ago and both had a great time!

  • Is there any info out there for prospective new season ticket holders?

The only info online is for renewing current tickets and seat allocation? Can you even buy season tickets yet if you don't have them already?

Yea man. I just ordered season tickets for the first time. Just click on the football link on the ticket website.

I'm pretty sure I did the same thing for a few days that you are doing now.

You can but you won't know your locations until those of us who are opting to move up, move up in mid May.

Well sort of. You get 1 point for every $100 you donate. People who have season tickets get 3 points a season for every year they've had tickets on top of any donate. You'd have to donate over $1000 to jump most existing ST holders.

Gotcha. So what you are saying is, I can fully expect to be upper bowl.

Oh well, season tickets are season tickets for this young buck.

I bought season tickets for the first time this year. Both the ticket office and the "Spartan Fund" office told me that whatever you donate this year does not count towards this year's tickets.....it counts towards next year's tickets. They specifically told me that you would have had a $600 donation in by June 30th 2011 to get a chance at a "zone A" seat in 2012.

Does anyone see this as a rather large disincentive for first time ticket buyers, or is it just me?
