CMU suspends 5 football players, including Austin White

  • Mount Pleasant, Mich. — Former Detroit News Blue Chip recruit Austin White is one of five players suspended by Central Michigan's football program for unspecified violations of team rules.

The others are Deon Butler, Kevin King, Danel Harris and Joe Sawicki.

White, a sophomore running back from Livonia Stevenson, was the No. 10 player on The Detroit News' Blue Chip recruiting list in 2010. He signed with Michigan but left the program during fall camp that year. He transferred to Central Michigan and sat out the 2011 season due to NCAA transfer rules.

The university isn't saying what violations the players committed, only that it's "cooperating fully with local authorities" in the case and referring questions to them.

so is there rumor about what they did?

I must add that one of my buddies went to central for his first semester after high school and he spent his day's getting high with the school's varsity athletes, so I wouldn't be surprised by anything that comes out of this. Hell, He was even with one of the star track runners when he stole some shit from a girls dorm and now that kid is in jail.

  • Mitchell and Myles both got in trouble early on, but learned from their mistakes it seems. Austin seems to mess around too much.

  • Mitchell and Myles are both nice kids. Myles got into some trouble up here as everyone knows, but he was driven to be successful and has worked hard at La. Tech. It's nice to see that paying off for him down there and that he has put his mistakes behind him. Give him another offseason of work and he will kill it down there this year. Would not be shocked to see him in the Top 15-20 in the country in receiving. Mark it down.

Austin, however, is going to wind up behind bars someday. Kid can absolutely not stay out of trouble. Frankly, I would have only taken his transfer if he agreed to a zero tolerance policy at CMU if I were Enos.

it's a tad disappointing when you think of what Myles could have done for the team this year, but like you said, he's absolutely tearing it up down there. People talked about how good Austin was coming out of high school, but i always thought that Myles was the best of the bunch. He ran the 110M in track and won a conference race after falling down out of the blocks on purpose. People like to rag on Mitchell here, but you have to remember that he never played defense before coming to State.

Good points. I think Mitchell has a real strong shot to be the fifth DB in the Nickel this fall. Probably will be either him or the Drummond/Williamson loser.

+1 I edited a bit because I had totally forgotten about Myles. He had a couple of really nice games last year.

Mitchell has been a solid backup CB for us, hopefully Austin gets his shit together too.

IIRC, his issues at M were being fat, lazy, couldn't hack General Studies, too much back hair, excessive toejams, non-M man like everybody who leaves.

Unfortunately, think you may be right about Austin. Friends kids who went to Stevenson with him, know about Austin constantly being in trouble & causing trouble there. Too bad, he was one heckuva of a high school running back.

No, the saddest thing in life is when like a baby pig becomes best friends with a grizzly bear in a zoo, or something, and then when the pig gets older, his best friend fucking murders the shit out of him and eats him. For the record and all.

  • Feel sorry of Dan Enos. He's stuck his neck out for some players and he's learning some aren't worth the risk.

This year more than ever winning will fix a lot of things for him.

Hopefully with the 7 home games he can take advantage. I'd love for him to shove it in the face of all the UM trolls on campus.
