No one on this board hates Michigan basketball more than me, but let's stop thinking they can't get good players. They are currently and will continue to get good players. They should. The story isn't that Michigan is good again. The story is, why the hell were they gone 15 years? And UM slaps, don't say the sanctions. They were a joke. UM's incompetence was more to blame than the joke of a sentence they received.

Checked Rivals, 247, Scout and ESPN rankings. There seems to be quite a concensus on most of the top 100 players coming into B1G next year.
Harris MSU 25,11, 12,11 Robinson UM 11, 28, 29, 18 Dekker Wisc 13, 30,30, 17 Ferrell IU 19,34, 32, 24 McGary UM 30,21, 21, 27 Hollowell IU 41, 27, 40, 42 Perea IU 43, 33, 49, 71 Woodbury Iowa 50, 51, 45, 39 Hammons Pur 77, 70, 73 81 Stauskas UM 71, 84, 81, 76 Costello MSU 83,92,94,86 Johnson Pur 94, 80, 82, 92 Davis Pur 96, 99,95,87 Kaminski MSU 113, 98,88, 85 Gesell Iowa 100, 96,87,75 Valentine MSU 81, UR, 92, 97 Simpson Pur 112 100, UR, UR
Thats everyone that was rated by at least 2 of the services list. 17 total. No OSU recruits. Interesting. Listed them in order based on what would look like an overall concensus ranking of the 4 services. IU probably best class with MSU, UM and Pur all close behind. Purdue does not have a top 50 player though. Lots of new great talent coming into the league next year.
Being called a sunshine blower is not insulting to me and I'm proud to be one.

According to those in the know, Little dog and McJesus are one and done, Staskos will be the best shooter in the B10 the second he arrives, Burke and Timmy will be the best backcourt in the nation, and this is a FF team next year. Not a darkhorse, not a contender. FF. They don't recruit players who might not work out. Every one of those guys is an instant contributor, and probably a star player year one. Their coach is a proven winner, the rest of the staff is outstanding.
Meanwhile, MSU has an overrated class coming in, Izzo is "losing ground", Draymond's loss will be too much to overcome, and we will be lucky to finish in the top 5...in the B10.
First round exit >>>>> Final 4? Because of 3 freshmen? Burke and Hardaway will be tough next year. Morgan is the definition of 7th man, but he is not horrible. Can anybody tell me who else on that current roster will be an impact player? That is a no. So, little dog comes in and plays well at the 3, McJesus is (and this is being VERY generous) a 9pt 7rbd guy. That gives you a lineup of McJesus/Morgan/Littledog/Hardaway/Burke. That is a well defined lineup. Every player can play their natural position, they have good size, good athleticism. Sounds good, on paper. Then you realize something. They have won 1 tournament game. Their coach has NEVER proven himself as a tournament ready guy. EVER! They have no bench. They have no backup PG...SG...SF...Their presumed success for 12/13 is based on littledog having a Carmelo Anthony type freshman season.
FTR, the reason we obsess is because the media and the idiot fanbase has been slamming this scenario in our faces for months now. When you try to offer another point of view, they laugh it off like they are a dynasty. Appling/Harris(Valentine)/Dawson/Costello(Kaminski)/Paynix. With experience and depth behind them, and one of the best coaches AND staffs in the country over the last 15 years. They have a bunch of guys who shit the bed, 3 freshmen, and a coach who has NEVER had a good tournament team. Yet THEY are the ones talking about their upcoming glorious season?

Money post right there, it's not that Michigan will be bad next year, but they have more questions and less talent that we do and we're not getting the respect we deserve and that now includes Gary Harris getting dropped in the rankings after a phenomenal senior season where he won Mr. Basketball and emerged as the top shooting guard in the country, yet he falls from 11 to 25 for rivals???
Michigan is losing plenty off from their team and they weren't as good as we were this year, that's a fact.
I've been saying Robinson is a much better recruit that McGary for 4 months now, but what has he shown to garner 5 stars? Sorry, Robinson is good, but 11th is overrated for him, and 30 is still way way too high for McGary. McGary should be 60-80 and Robinson should be 25-35, no one should have Harris outside the top 15 and he's probably top 10. He was the 2nd best player in that NIKE team only to Shabazz.
