If someone wants to give their kid a strange name, I really don't care. It's the parents who give a kid a common name, and then spell it weird that I think are dumb. It's Michael, not Mykel. And I know 6 girls named Katelyn and none of them spell it the same. They will spend their entire lives having to spell it to other people. As someone with a common name that has 12 different accepted spellings, I can state with certainty, it's a pain in the ass.
