Can these Tigers start out 35-5?

  • Death Roe said...

Hey man, attendance at the Jake is skyrocketing!!! More than half full today!!! WOWZA

Oh I am a classless fan for poking fun at Tiger's fans irrational and unjustified high expectations? Fine by me. Trust me I am probably the most rational baseball fan you'll meet. I love me some tribe KoolAid but I realize the Tigers are going to win the division by probably 5-15 games. At the end of the day though, the Tigers are still a flawed ball club, and Prince is only a marginal upgrade over Victor. To think that they honestly could play at a .875 clip is irate.

Just having some fun thats all. Just like I'll have a blast asking Delmon about his Jewish friend next week at the Jake.

Tigers are 19-21 and had 104% attendance today. Indians are first-place, 60% full.

Perennial loser fanbase. They could win the World Series Game 7 and the Jake would maybe be 70% capacity.

You do realize that they sold out 455 straight games back in the late 90s right? Has Comerica or Tiger stadium ever come close to that. Didn't think so.

  • You're one of the best Indians fans EVER!

You totally remind me of the douche White Sox fan at the game I attended who felt justified yelling at the players from the bleachers the whole game. He was trying to impress his friends, who laughed and were embarrassed by him the whole time.

But I'm sure you're awesome, brah.

And if they were doing that for the last 10 years, maybe they wouldn't have to be selling off/losing/trading their best players every 3 years.

That was in the Baerga days. It went that way right until Jim Thome left.

Been basically garbage ever since, even in 07 when they got to within a game of the World Series prior to pulling the time-honored Tribe gag job.

    Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.

Nah, not riled up. Just defending the team I love, like when us Tiggers fans talk shit in the Indians thread and you defend the Tribe.

Have a fun time being a jackass at the game.

  • Our owner is one of the most frugal in the business. The Indians actually made the largest profit last year of any baseball team at 30 Million, but what did we do with it? Sign fricken Casey Kotchman. What a splash. At the end of the day, like it or not, the Indians are a progressive and extremely well run organization that is hampered by a frugal owner. They have rebuilt a few times during this last decade and had a team in 07 that was probably the best in baseball and now again a half way decent club on a minuscule budget.

Oh I read but still someone had the idea to make it and there was another thread asking this same question back when they were 5-0.

Trust me, i watch as many Tigers games as many of you guys. I love baseball and everything about. Just having fun. Nice to see people havent given up at them yet.

That's not true. I asked if this team could achieve that feat but never declared that they would. My declarative statement was that this could be a special year for the Tigers and most posters agreed with that statement even though they believed that the feat could not be achieved.

    http://chronicle.northcoastnow.com/2012/05/20/indians-closer-chris-perez-blasts-fans-says-theyre-reason-free-agents-avoid-cleveland/

CLEVELAND — Chris Perez had just struck out the side to preserve a 2-0 victory and earn his 13th save. He should have been happy, but he wasn’t.

The fiery Perez used his postgame meeting with the media to blister Indians fans for the team’s last-place standing in attendance and for booing him, even going as far as saying the lack of support has contributed to the team’s inability to sign free agents.

One could argue that Tiger fans are the losers for packing the stadium to watch a sub-.500 team.

  • Was at MBC downtown Lansing watching the game last night and the place exploded when there was a tagout at home plate. I looked around and thought to myself, "Damn, this team has so much support, so much love, and yet they continue to shit the bed." It almost made everything worse.

  • I see the Tigers got their 35th win the other day. The had just 32 more losses before getting there than the '84 team.

I was responding to the special season part. Even if we win the ALC, it won't be special.
