The punishment is a yellow card, then a red. Not a free kick. Dumb ref didn't know what she was doing.

Okay, we get it; you dislike America. Done with your ranting yet?

OK, so let's say they give the PK the yellow card. Then who gets the ball?

Don't think -- it can only hurt the ballclub

PK? You mean the keeper? She keeps the ball and kicks it out. As is ALWAYS the case when this happens. If she persists then she'll get a second yellow and be off. I understand that it feels good to make up reasons why this was a wise decision by the ref, but that is just not how the game is officiated. We don't make up things as we go along because they seem appropriate. Free kicks are not given inside he box for time wasting. Period.

Now, I think the US were the better team on the day, and I think they would have probably equalized anyway. But that does not make this a good decision. It was horrible. You are embarrassing yourselves by insisting otherwise.

Spent the evening at the soccer fields tonight and every US coach I talked to laughed about how they'd got away with murder...but then again, they spend their lives watching the game and know what they're talking about.
