Can't do it...Can't cheer for Varmits win against Hoosiers

  • All factors considered. I just cannot bring myself to cheer for Michigan to win against the Hoosiers...I would rather have Coach Crean, Coach Izzo's former Assistant Coach, win...

  • Serious question: What is the point of cheering for UM from your couch? I suppose you think they'll win because of it? Or maybe you're just doing it to prove you aren't "obsessed"? Well, good for you I guess. You have fun hooting and hollering for scUM in front of your TV while thinking it's going to change something. Will you be singing along with their fight song as well? Exactly what type of cheering do you plan to do?

    I want what's best for MSU like everyone else. If for some odd reason I was actually going to that game, I would probably cheer for them. It would help make the environment, and my suffering may not be in vain. But since I'm not, they can fuck off. And if you think you're the better Spartan because you will be actively and pointlessly cheering for scUM, you can fuck right off too.

    Yep, at this point I prefer the better seed in the B1G Tournament.

    We don't want a 4/5 matchup. 3 seed is much better.

    Outcome in the B1G tournament means much more for seeding than a 4 way tie for the league title.

    From this point forward it's about playing for a 2 seed, and a good draw in the B1G tournament.

    League titles are nice, but who remembers winning one tying with 3 others?

    You cheer for MSU because you're a Spartan and actually enjoy it. Shouldn't have anything to do with wins or losses. Cheering for a team you hate however is completely different. Surely you can see that.

    Izzo would shit a solid gold brick if he read this post. This program is about banners and championships, and you're more concerned with seeding in a meaningless conference tournament. Unreal.

    I doubt it Izzo would have that reaction.

    The point I was making is a 4/5 seed in the B1G Tournament is not a good position for the NCAA Tournament. Lose that game, you are toast and are stuck at a 3 seed.

    I want to lose 1st round in BTT..

    2/3 seed sets up better for that with Iowa or Minny or ILL and then OSU/Wisky..

    vs. Wisky first..then IU.. then perhaps UM..

    We saw what happened LY.. Appling's tired.. 3 games in 3 days against top 25 teams is just going to make him more tired..

    And where MSU is as a program.. the only banners that should matter are Final Fours and National Titles

    However, depending on what a fan values most this season, cheering for UofM is cheering for an MSU B1G championship, 4th in 5 years. Cheering for IU is also cheering for no worse than a BTT 3 seed for MSU. So no matter who you want to win, you can still enjoy rooting for MSU, and I don't care how much I hate any other team in the nation, if their loss means better things for MSU, i'll root my ass off for them, even if it is from my couch. My point was that your reasoning for not rooting for another team, because you're just on the couch, was dumb. Nice try, but no.

    And in case you're wondering, I'd rather see IU win because I think it can lead to a stronger NCAA seed.
