Change Of Plans For Moeller OL

Cincinnati (Ohio) Archbishop Moeller OL Alex Gall tweaked his travel schedule this week following a conversation with Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio Monday night.

  • I interpret this article to mean the call was surprising and a bit sudden. Something happening with other OL recruits that caused MD to make this personal call?

    Please don't speculate

  • The Jimmy John's delivery guy knows Gall's Godfather. Said Dantonio has been exploring hard drugs and thought the name "Alex Gall" on his phone was actually "Mufasa," and he wanted to talk to a real-life lion.

  • He received an offer to camp at OSU and turned it down? Did he give a reason?

    Rook

  • Very nice offer list.

    Final Countdown

  • With Matt Miller likely to receive an o$u offer after attending their camp, the MSU staff suddenly has a renewed interest in Gall.
If he shows the footwork and the athleticism to play OT at the next level he could earn an MSU offer based on his camp performance.
If MSU were to offer Gall, he will be green, based on everything I'm hearing from Moeller sources.

You seem to be in the know about football recruiting. Would you mind if I ask how you're involved in the recruiting world? (no sarcasm, genuine inquiry)

Miller was the fastest, Medows was the best, welsh showed the most promise. All three were waiting until today to hear if they got an offer. There is also a chance none of them do.

Benenoch said he won't be visiting this summer because his dad is too busy.

In the mean time, he's visited Alabama,Texas, Texas A&M and Arkansas, picking up offers from all of them (and a ton of others). His family has said they don't want him to move too far away.

No speculation, just a curious coincidence I guess.

  • I also take this as a sign that Norman still has no idea whether he will play college football as well. I hope he does, I also think that Gall can play inside easily, and if he passes the tests that project to him playing tackle at the next level that is even better. CBD, any idea if Kyle Meadows or Lovell Peterson will be camping as well?

Don't forget the next trip to OU

I know and talk to several HS and college coaches in MI and OH and also talk to some recruiting analysts. Just talk to them about different players.

All within driving distance and a quick day (or two) trip there and back to work out. Big difference than going south to north across the US.

Yes, but that brings up the nagging issue that he committed to MSU back in March.

Lovell Peterson may attend MSU's camp. He has been invited to work out @ DT and would like to attend. He needs to get transportation to come up. Possibly his HS coach, Jay Minton can give him a ride up.
    Don't know about Kyle Meadows.

Doesn't even feel like he's a commit at this point

Feels more like a long shot

Always the man in the know! Thanks for your contributions!

I thought I had read a few days ago that Kyle Meadows was offered by the staff- may have been on the rivals site or bucknuts.... not sure now. Obviously does not look like it based on 247.

Big kid and I was thinking with his basketball background he could be a good LT prospect.

As for Gall- I just like the fact that the kid wants to be a Spartan and appreciate that. Hopefully the talent is there as well as the fit for this class. We are in need of a second OG with the possibility of Miller going elsewhere. Does the staff feel he cannot play guard?

That takes a lot of gall.

  • I am really excited about the news on Gall.

Does anyone know what the deal is with Lovell Peterson? He seems to be a highly rated prospect but only has offers from a handful of schools.

I wouldn't even consider him a commit - think of him as a soft verbal. 50% chance he ends up here.
