Chengalis shilling for MSU/UM to be night game

  • Rogue Leader said...

It would be cool to participate in the first night game in any sport in the history of man.

It would be the 2nd. The very first one was last year vs. ND.

wasn't even the least watched bcs game last year.

It was the worst though. It was like watching a horse try to fuck a cat. Hell, that would be more entertaining than that clusterfuck of a game.

Neither belonged in a BCS game.

    Ha. I read it wrong.

But, UM and ND do have a national following. Is it as big as it used to be? No, but both programs are still pretty high profile (which is why UM got picked to go to the Sugar Bowl in the first place).

Nope...UofM got picked because the guy in a position of influnce for the Suger Bowl is a UofM guy...nothing to do with the best match up or some sort of marketing draw of UofM...just a UofM slappy picking his team because he could.

"it's a natural rival, as Michigan-Notre Dame has often been called, and both programs have huge national followings."

    From The Detroit News:

Silly Detroit News, UM-ND has been forced by their respective marketing departments. UofM ducked ND for too many years for it to be a natural rivalry.

i guess that's subjective. i remember an overtime thriller.

Least watched Sugar bowl in 17 years. Saved only by a terrible orange bowl fir ratings. Not stuff UM fan should be proud of.

I remember two teams that looked like shit. If my daughters 6th grade soccer game gies to a shoot out it means the game was close not that there was athleticism or great plays in it. Ftr maybe you could name some great plays from that thing. Was it the fake field goal men down field penalty play at the end of the first half? Looked like two teams from the jack pine conference near McNain.

It was mostly a defensive game, but here's one.

Dreadlock Jesus was 9-21 with 117 yards and 45 of those were on one pass to Hemmingway.

He also had an INT as did VT's QB.

SCum had a whopping 184 yards total and was 4-13 on 3rd down.

    VT had 377 yards.

SCum had 56 yards rushing on 30 carries.

It was NOT a good game.

You can keep telling yourself it was, but it wasn't. VT owned that game and should have easily won it.

Serious? I see blocking break down a horrible pass and db's break down on their assignment. You see a touchdown. Three horrible missed assignments and that's good? Ok. But it's why u of m peeps have the rep they do.

You just don't appreciate a good jump ball play. Hater.

Like I said, it's subjective. I see an athletic quarterback make an elusive play to avoid a sack, then fire the ball downfield to a receiver who makes an even better play by shaking two db's, catching the ball and running in for the Touchdown.shrug

  • The UMAA v Notre Dame game was also horrible...like the Bad News Bears vs Keystone Cops out there...

Busted. But I look at that team and I ask myself: where's the threat?

I wouldn't describe that throw as "firing" but to each their own.

The threat is when 2 DB's run into each other on a jump ball.

I'm hoping that kind of "firing" the ball downfield continues this year.

  • I got a kick out of the ESPN analysts laughing while going over that game. Another good one was when the game announcers kept calling Virginia Tech's plays before they happened and laughing about it. I have never seen one team show themselves that inept and still win, or another team continuously telegraph what they are going to do. roflmao
