Chicago Cub fans have to be the biggest dbag PRO fanbase right??

  • I lost all respect for that fanbase after the Steve Bartman incident

He is not the reason they lost that series

Dude first chance to go to WS in 100 years and it got blown off. Yes it wasnt bartman's fault but the emotions got the best of them. They even apologized to bartman afterwards but it was an unfortunate circumstance. You dont know how long and how bad the city of chicago has waited to just sniff a WS let alone win one. Stop talking crap

    Who's "they"?

Did the entire Cubs fanbase apologize to him?

Yes. We even aired TV messages and newspaper ads for him. If you dont know the circumstances then dont talk shit. Your knowledge of bartman incident is based off on ESPN's 30 for 30. were you in chicago at that time? I was

Any organization and fanbase that celebrates and embraces failure is a disgrace.

and here comes a southsider trying to deflect the blame on a few drunk individuals rather than admitting that their whole team along with ownership and fanbase is trash. You guys deserve Pierzynski as hes nothing but a tool. Not to mention that same owner is doing nothing for the bulls.

Why do you assume one must be a White Sox fan to hate the Cubs? I got news for you, son, your fan base is universally despised. I'm not a Sox fan, I'm a Tigers fan. I want the Sox to lose every game they play since they are my team's #1 threat in the division. I've also never lived on the south side, but I did live in Lincoln Park for 2 years, so I witnessed what I'm talking about first-hand.

Dude it got to the point where Bartman was scared to even leave his house and go to work

Emotions got the best of them? LOL. They were sending Bartman death threats days and weeks after the game had ended. Those were calculated moves, not sudden acts of emotion.

Did you see the 30 for 30 on Steve Bartman? THOSE are the degenerate losers that largely make up the North Side fan base.

Uh, what? I was living in Chicago and there were nothing of that sort. The only reporting I remember was different news outlets pasting Bartman's address on the news for millions to see. The whole scene was absolutely disgusting, and I will forever have a tainted view of the entire organization for what happened. Not one damn person from that team and stepped up to deflect blame. Funny how nobody brings up the Alex Gonzalez error. Even Dusty Baker gave a very disappointing response in the post are press conference when he had a great opportunity to put out some of the fire.

And yeah, emotions got the best of them? Seriously? The dude had to have police protection in front of his house for months, all for reaching for a damn foul ball.

Chicago should be ashamed of themselves, and it was the entire fan base that night, not a select group of individuals.

  • I am a big Cubs fan (in addition to Tigers fan) and I am not a binge drinker or a douchebag. Grew up watching them on WGN. If you want to say people who move there that have no clue about baseball and try to act like "fans" are, fine. While many are, not every Cub fan is a tool. Those are White Sux and scUM fans.

There's nothing wrong with the Cell. It WAS a piece of shit before the reconstruction. At least the people inside said stadium care about the team and the game.

I think they care about the team up north and what game they are playing more. But hey, I'm not picking on the Sox alone. Cubs fans are just a different kind of annoying.

dumb argument, because while this is 40 games behind, you havent really been selling seats at all, they've been solidly averaging around 26k this year

That was a gang maneuver, not really sport related.

wrong. LA has has tons of people - not gangsters - who are very proud to be from LA. SF has a likewise bunch of idiots and when the two mix, the good spirit of razzing goes out the window. You are right, that they are usually mexican americans in LA, but they are not necessarily gang members. Just people with too much invested in "local" mentality,

Pssst. The Cubs played the Tigers in the 1945 WS. But don't let facts get in the way of a good rant.

Pretty sure it was reported as a gang incident. At least the two people that beat his ass were in a gang and thought that he was. Either way Cubs fans are douchier.

I know Cub fans bring more to the yard than Sox fans. Having a stadium in the south side of Chicago probably has something to do with that. Doesn't matter though. Point is, the Cubs could sell out every game to the gills, but most of those douchers only care about the party, not the game. People don't go to Sox games for the frills, they go for the baseball.
