Comp is Dogging Out Shane Morris on Staudt!

    Claims that he watched him suck in the playoffs. Watched him cry. Watched him throw a bunch of interceptions at the MSU camp. He says that when he sees Morris ranked high he thinks the rankings are a joke.

    lol but he did suck in the play offs, he did throw a bunch of interceptions at a 7-7 tournament at MSU and he did cry after he stunk up the elite 11 combine in texas.

    I dont think Comp believes he sucks but Morris should not be a 5 star

    This is what I took from his comments. Not a turrible QB, but 5Star is a bit much for this kid.

    This. People are blowing this out of proportion. Comp wasnt saying hes a bad player or MSU wouldnt like to have him, just that being a 5 star or high 4 star top 50 kid is pretty silly for what he has done and shown.

  • Comp is probably just taking note of the page hits the last overhyped UM recruit got him (Jesus McGary) and doubling down on the strategy. Also tweaking the Blue Wall who has elevated a 17 year old to a combination of Dan Marino and George S. Patton. Overblown all the way around, from statement to Walvie response.

    I didn't know that they were milking the Valenti thing. Kind of sad that the mighty Rivals board has become that.

    I never paid much attention to who was scooping who on most news. I just figure that it gets out eventually.

    To be honest, the only real content worth reading on here IMO is Jack Ebling and Red Cedar Rumblings. The rest of it is pretty lackluster. They used to do video previews and recaps of the games.... They took that away without any notice to the subscribers. Other 247 sites do podcasts.....This one doesn't. The electronic/multimedia side of this site is pretty poor. Although maybe that is not their focus as much. I am also impressed by other sites game analysis and comprehensive breakdowns.... This site doesn't really do that. Kind of disappointing. I do feel like 247 is still growing though so who knows what will happen in the long run.

    I actually think the content here is pretty good. I guess a podcast would be cool, but I always found the SMag podcast to be pretty poor. Some good info, but they were always so long and JC and PK are painfully awkward on camera. Sort of made it tough to watch. If you're going to do it, come up with a simple, concise, cool format and go with it. As for the game breakdowns I think the staff here does a pretty good job, but you can really get those anywhere. I come to sights like this for real time info and recruiting information. That's just me though.

    Oh yeah, Warren De La Salle just oozes D-1 talent every year.

    He ran into a hot Cass Tech team in the playoffs. De La Salle couldn't run the ball and no open receivers.

    Delasalle is a pretty good program. Always very solid. You also have to look at who they play. Their record is never going to be great because the catholic league beats up one another.

    It put hin on the map. Not sure about that.

    I played football at De La Salle and I can say with 100% certainty that De La Salle has only been good the past 2 or 3 years from Berezik to Morris before that we sucked. lucky if we went .500. After CC and BR the Catholic league is not that good.

    if morris was committed to msu he wouldn't be ranked in the top 50 and this conversation would be obsolete.

    How can you not include OLSM? To have 3 high caliber teams is a lot more than most conferences can say. Any of those 3 teams would be a lock to win almost any other conference in the state.

    what do you base this comment on? Have you watched film on him? Doubtful............hey, I hope you and Uncle Jim are right and the kids sucks balls but from all I've seen and heard he's pretty good. (despite being douchey)

    Clearly he has raw talent, but it will need a lot of time and expertise to develop. Considering that Denard actually got worse (and also dropped below 50% completion percentage) last year, UM has reason to be worried.

    I happen to be thrilled that UM is betting the farm on the strong arm of a QB who cries all the time , but can't hit water from a boat.

  • Morris is a good recruit, no doubt about it, but is he an Elite QB prospect? Probably hasn't shown it yet, we'll see what he does his senior year, but this is not a Drew Henson, Jimmy Clausen, Todd Marinovich type prospect out of high school, he's not a can't miss prospect and don't be surprised to see him slip some in the rankings if he doesn't dazzle this fall.

  • Overrated, maybe. Maybe not. Could be dead on, for all I know. But regardless of how true it is, it seems more than a little strong for a person speaking in a professional capacity to go out of his way to rip a 17 year old kid with another year of high school left to play.

    For as long as we scrimmaged against them when I played (2006-2009) they were always the best team we faced, I would certainly call them a power house...

  • All I ever hear is how great UM will be when this kid gets on campus, but didn't he go 9-27 in a playoff game? He's already a god here and he hasn't played a snap of his senior season in HS, I have a distinct feeling he's not this good but what do I know?
