This '06 grad isn't bothered by Sparty.
Only from the mouths of U-M trash is it meant to be derogatory, but little do they realize they out themselves as community college grads or less when they hurl these "insults". Judging silently, we, in fact, are the amused ones.

'06 as well. I find "Sparty" annoying in the same way I find "Kork Coupons" annoying; exceedingly low-brow insults.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.

I don't really think it's something used to make fun of MSU, though, besides among the silly Walverine crowd. Nationally, Sparty is an affectionate thing.

'04 here.
Sparty is a cool name, no way getting around it. It's like having the name Matt and being affectionately called "Matty" by your friends. It's endearing. I just don't see how it's condescending or dismissive.
I wish Herky would take off, because I like names that end in the "eee" vowel sound.

Started in '01, so I'm probably a year older . Did a double major, was 8 credits short by the end of year 4. Finished by going part-time in 2006, worked, tried to save some money/focus on the LSAT. Worked out pretty well, helped me grow up before law school. Well, a little bit at least.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
